Alison Lee, a 28-year-old LPGA tour professional, has been experiencing a career resurgence thanks to the unwavering support and belief of PGA Tour legend Fred Couples. The two met at a pro-am event, where Couples shared his own stories and complimented Lee’s game, leading to a newfound self-confidence in Lee. Couples began sending encouraging texts to Lee, urging her to believe in herself and her abilities.

This newfound confidence has translated into success on the golf course for Lee, with her recent performances showcasing some of the best golf of her career. Over her last 10 rounds, Lee has been a combined 46 under par, with an average score of 66.9 over her last three starts. She has also recorded two runner-up finishes and set a scoring record at the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series in Saudi Arabia.

Lee’s career had hit a low point in 2021 after struggling to maintain her status on the LPGA tour. Following a standout rookie season in 2015, she found herself falling out of contention and dealing with a series of missed cuts. This led to Lee questioning her future in the sport and considering taking a break from golf altogether. However, with Couples’ unwavering support and belief in her abilities, Lee is now focused on achieving her first tour victory.

Lee’s friends and fellow competitors have noticed a significant change in her game and demeanor on the course. Nelly Korda, a close friend of Lee, describes her as a pure player with a strong game and believes that great things are on the horizon for her. With her newfound confidence and success, Lee is determined to continue performing at a high level and finally secure her first LPGA tour victory.

As Lee prepares for the final rounds of the CME Group Tour Championship, she remains grateful for the support and encouragement she has received from Couples. His belief in her abilities has reignited her passion for the game and given her the confidence to believe in herself. With Couples’ mentorship and guidance, Lee is motivated to continue pushing herself to achieve her goals and make her mark on the LPGA tour.
