As the 2025 LIV Golf League season approaches, teams are finalizing their rosters, including Stinger GC, who has welcomed back Branden Grace after being relegated at the end of the 2024 season. Despite questions and confusion from the golf world, Stinger GC captain Louis Oosthuizen explains that Grace was always the team’s top choice due to his strong performances in previous seasons. Despite finishing 51st in the 2024 individual standings, Grace showed glimpses of his form with a seven-under round at the Team Championship and a runner-up finish at the LIV Golf Promotions event.

Although there was uncertainty surrounding Grace’s return to the team, Oosthuizen reveals that Stinger GC never considered another South African player to join the roster, emphasizing their desire to have Grace back on the team. Additionally, there have been discussions about the possibility of LIV Golf making an appearance in South Africa in the future, with reports indicating that Grace has signed a two-year contract. Oosthuizen expresses his hope to bring LIV Golf to South Africa in 2026 or 2027, highlighting the challenges of securing sponsors with potential team changes.

Despite any negativity surrounding Grace’s re-signing, Oosthuizen remains confident in the decision, stating that the team’s priority is to put together the strongest lineup possible. He praises Grace’s talent and predicts a successful season for the 36-year-old, ignoring any outside criticism. With Grace’s best result in 2024 coming at LIV Golf Jeddah, where he finished in a share of 15th, Oosthuizen is optimistic about his performance in the upcoming season.

Looking ahead to the start of the 2025 LIV Golf League season, Oosthuizen is focused on building a competitive team and is not swayed by any external opinions. With the goal of showcasing Grace’s abilities and proving his worth on the team, Oosthuizen is confident in the decision to bring him back for another season. Despite the challenges and obstacles faced in securing sponsorships and organizing future events, Oosthuizen remains committed to bringing LIV Golf to South Africa in the coming years, further solidifying Stinger GC’s position in the league.
