Caitlin Clark, the rising WNBA star, recently caught the attention of golf enthusiasts when a video of her nearly making an ace went viral on TikTok. Before this impressive display of skill, Clark had a lesson with Martha Foyer-Faulconer, a former LPGA player who was amazed by Clark’s ability to make quick adjustments. Foyer-Faulconer, who played on the LPGA from 1987 to 1995, noted significant changes in Clark’s game during their session together.

The focus of their lesson was on Clark’s short game, with Foyer-Faulconer noticing tension in Clark’s shoulders from the TikTok video. This tune-up comes ahead of Clark’s participation in the Annika driven by Gainbridge event at Pelican in Belleair, Florida, where she will play alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam. Clark will also be part of the event’s pro-am on Nov. 13 and Women’s Leadership Summit at the club the day before.

Clark previously made headlines last summer when she played in the John Deere Classic Pro-Am alongside golf pros Zach Johnson and Ludvig Aberg. Johnson praised Clark as “transcendent,” showcasing her talent for the sport. After the Indiana Fever’s playoff exit last month, Clark jokingly expressed her intentions to become a professional golfer during the offseason.

Martha Foyer-Faulconer, who won three Indiana high school golf titles, is thrilled to work with Clark, noting her passion and raw talent for the game. Foyer-Faulconer emphasized that Clark is driven and passionate about excelling in everything she does, making her a joy to work with on the golf course. Foyer-Faulconer focused on adjusting Clark’s setup and working on eliminating her slice, starting with wedges before moving on to drivers.

Foyer-Faulconer revealed that Clark’s improvement was rapid and reminiscent of pushing a button, highlighting Clark’s natural talent for the game. She noted that some aspects of Clark’s game cannot be taught, as she possesses an innate ability to excel in golf. As Clark continues to hone her skills and seek a golfing home in Indiana, Foyer-Faulconer is excited to work with her and witness her growth in the sport.
