Wilson’s new Staff Model ZM wedges have been tested by five GolfWRX members, each providing valuable insights on various aspects of the wedges. These wedges are designed to offer short-game confidence for players of all skill levels, with features such as forged 8620 carbon steel construction and precision-milled faces for maximum spin and stopping power. The ZM Grooves and high-tech garnet face blasting further enhance performance in all conditions. The selection process for testers involves evaluating each entry against specific criteria to ensure the best fit for the product being tested.

Member testers shared their experiences with the Wilson Staff Model ZM wedges, highlighting key aspects such as classic looks, shaping, face roughness, durability, spin generation, glare-reducing finish, versatile grind options, excellent distance and consistency, solid feel, and compelling price point. Review highlights from individual testers underscored the wedges’ performance in terms of accurate distances, repeatable feel, crisp sound, exceptional spin, and the ability to stop the ball effectively. The testers also appreciated the traditional looks, sound, and feel of the wedges, along with their long and consistent ball flight.

One tester particularly praised the wedges for their ability to add an extra 1/2 club distance, while others liked the firm, but not “clicky” feel of the wedges, likening it to a Vokey wedge. The variety of grind options was considered simple and effective for all skill levels, and the flight window of the wedges was noted to be ideal for flighting the ball down. Different testers highlighted specific aspects of the wedges, from the shape and feel to the flight characteristics and turf interaction. Overall, members were impressed with the Wilson Staff Model ZM wedges and found them to be a worthy investment at their price point.

Some members expressed a desire for a raw finish option and preferred a stock shaft other than the True Temper Dynamic Gold Spinner. However, overall feedback from testers was positive, with shared admiration for the wedges’ appearance, feel, ball flight, and performance around the green. The inclusion of a full-size groove on the bottom of the wedges was also appreciated by testers for its functional aspect. Member testing opportunities on GolfWRX provide golf enthusiasts with the chance to test and provide feedback on the latest golf equipment, offering brands valuable insights into the perceptions of avid golfers.
