Garmin recently announced the launch of the Approach R50 premium launch monitor and golf simulator, offering golfers the opportunity to play golf 365 days a year from the comforts of their home or at any driving range. The Approach R50 features a 10″ built-in color touchscreen display and comes preloaded with more than 43,000 golf courses worldwide, along with an improved version of Home Tee Hero. The launch monitor utilizes three different cameras to track over 15 ball and club metrics, providing players with precision analytics for every club from driver to putter, along with high-speed impact videos for reviewing their shots.

Golfers no longer have to cancel tee times on cold and rainy days with the Approach R50. They can play virtual rounds on over 43,000 courses worldwide from their garage, basement, or driving range using the enhanced Home Tee Hero simulator. This device allows up to four players to participate in virtual rounds and weekly tournaments with scores posted on a global leaderboard, all viewable from the Approach R50 display. For a complete simulator experience, the Approach R50 can be connected to a monitor or projector, transforming any space into a virtual golf course.

The training mode feature on the Approach R50 allows golfers to record sessions and save stats for each club, enabling them to track improvements over time. High-speed impact videos provide immediate feedback on each shot, helping players analyze their swings and work on weaknesses in their game. The launch monitor offers stat tracking for each club, along with 15 advanced measurements such as ball speed, launch angle, and face-to-path, captured by cutting-edge high-speed cameras.

With built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, players can access third-party simulators like GSPro, E6 Connect/Apex, and Awesome Golf, in addition to using Home Tee Hero on the Approach R50. The device is portable, simple to set up, offers up to four hours of battery life, and comes with a carrying case for easy transportation. Garmin’s outdoor recreation products are designed to enhance experiences and enrich lives, providing adventurers, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts with innovative tools to beat yesterday.
