The KBS MAX HL graphite wood shaft is designed to provide golfers with slower swing speeds a higher launch trajectory, added spin, and forgiveness for greater accuracy and consistency. This shaft is built on the same platform as the MAX Graphite iron shaft, offering players a seamless transition throughout their bag. With options for different swing speeds and flex options, golfers can choose the best fit for their game. The shaft comes in seven gloss finishes, including black, white, red, chrome, hot pink, light blue, and rainbow.

When tested on a Ping G Le3 driver at Precision Golf in Surrey using Trackman technology, the KBS MAX HL shaft showed promising results. By replacing the current shaft with the 42G regular KBS MAX HL shaft, the golfer saw improvements in ball speed and reduced spin, leading to increased distance. While there was an adjustment period to get used to the balance of the shaft, the golfer eventually found a balanced delivery position that maximized performance.

Despite some initial challenges in adjusting to the KBS MAX HL shaft, the golfer was able to see marginal gains in their performance. By creating a better strike and optimizing launch conditions, the shaft provided the player with more distance and improved efficiency. However, there was a trade-off with increased spin due to an open clubface. Ultimately, the decision to switch to the KBS MAX HL shaft comes down to how aggressive the player wants to be with their swing and if they are willing to make minor adjustments for potential improvements.

The KBS MAX HL shaft offers stability and strength, providing players with the confidence to make more positive swings and potentially squeeze out extra yards off the tee. While the focus on shafts has traditionally been geared towards tour players, it is refreshing to see KBS developing shafts specifically aimed at average players. With the help of innovative shaft technology, golfers of all skill levels can benefit from improved performance and consistency on the course.
