TaylorMade Golf has recently released their latest driver range, the Qi35, following the success of their Qi10 range. The Qi35 range includes the Qi35, Qi35 LS, and Qi35 Max, all designed with a focus on CG projection to optimize performance. By engineering the clubhead to project the CG as low as possible, TaylorMade aims to increase the area of opportunity for optimal flight conditions. This is achieved through saving and moving discretionary weight around the clubhead to bring the balance point or CG projection lower.

In addition to the CG projection technology, the Qi35 driver features two adjustable weights in the sole to fine-tune launch and spin, a multi-material construction including chromium carbon, steel, aluminum, tungsten, and titanium, as well as a fourth-generation carbon twist face. The visual design of the Qi35 is striking, with a light grey carbon head and minimalist finish. The shape at address is rounder compared to previous models, providing a high MOI for stability and forgiveness.

Performance testing of the Qi35 driver showed impressive results, especially with the ability to change the adjustable weights to adjust the characteristics of the driver. Switching the heavier weight to the front position resulted in lower spin and increased distance output. Despite a slight increase in dispersion, the higher MOI shaping helped maintain stability. The driver also offers a livelier, firmer feel at impact compared to previous models.

On the tour, many players, including Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, have opted for the Qi10 driver over the Qi10 LS due to its forgiveness and similar spin profile. With the added versatility of the adjustable weights in the Qi35 driver, more tour players are expected to choose the more forgiving option for increased performance. The driver’s premium looks, impressive performance, and versatility make it a standout product for 2025.

Overall, the TaylorMade Qi35 driver is a top contender for golfers looking for a high-performing and visually appealing driver. With an RRP of £529/$599 and two stock shaft options available, the Qi35 offers a combination of advanced technology, customization options, and tour-proven performance. Whether you’re a professional golfer or a weekend warrior, the Qi35 driver is worth considering for your bag for the upcoming season.
