The new TaylorMade Qi35 lineup features two new hybrid models for this year – the Qi35 core hybrid or Rescue model and the Qi35 Max hybrid. Both models offer a premium look similar to the Qi35 driver and fairway wood, making them some of the best golf hybrid clubs on the market in terms of aesthetics. The core Qi35 hybrid has a 3° adjustable hosel, while the Max hybrid hosel is bonded, meaning there is no way to change loft, lie, or face angle. The Max hybrid has been designed with maximum forgiveness in mind and features a mild draw-bias, making it ideal for golfers who tend to slice the ball.

During testing, the draw-bias of the Qi35 Max hybrid was evident, with shots sometimes turning into strong hooks. The club showed more consistent front-to-back dispersion compared to the core hybrid, although the regular hybrid was less volatile when it came to side-to-side dispersion. The Qi35 Max hybrid performed well on the golf course, particularly in terms of launching height and CG positioning. The rear weight placement on the clubhead resulted in a sharp descent angle, making it easy to hold greens even in difficult conditions.

Despite its slightly larger head size, the Qi35 Max hybrid performed well from both rough and tight lies. The continuation of the Speed Pocket in TaylorMade Metalwoods and hybrids contributed to its ability to cut through rough with ease. For golfers looking to cure a slice or who often find themselves hitting hybrids into long par threes or fours, the Qi35 Max hybrid could be a great fit. Although the lack of adjustability may deter some players, a proper fitting can help determine the right loft and lie for optimal performance.

The TaylorMade Qi35 Max hybrid will be available for purchase at retail on January 30th with an RRP of $299/£269. Overall, the Qi35 Max hybrid offers forgiveness and a draw-bias design that can benefit players struggling with slices or looking for consistency in their hybrid shots. With its premium look and performance on the golf course, the Qi35 Max hybrid is a standout option for golfers seeking a reliable and forgiving hybrid club.
