Scottie Scheffler Sets Schedule for 2026: American Express and WM Phoenix Open
As the new year approaches, golf fans are eager to see where the world’s top players will tee off. Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1 and a four-time PGA Tour Player of the Year, recently announced his plans to kick off the 2026 season in California and Arizona—marking an exciting return to the site of his first Tour victory.
Commitments to Upcoming Tournaments
On Wednesday, Scheffler confirmed his participation in two key events:
- The American Express in La Quinta, California
- WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Arizona
Previous Success at TPC Scottsdale
Scheffler made history when he claimed his inaugural PGA Tour victory at TPC Scottsdale in 2022. His remarkable performance in that tournament laid the foundation for a standout year, which included winning three more events, capped off by triumphing at the Masters. To date, he has amassed 19 Tour victories.
Not Competing in the Sony Open
While Scheffler will not participate in the Sony Open in Hawaii (January 15-19), he will make his presence felt at The American Express, joining four other top-10 ranked players and 27 of the top 50 players in the world.
Scheffler has been a consistent presence at The American Express since 2020, achieving a third-place finish in his debut year. Unfortunately, a minor hand surgery following a cooking accident last Christmas sidelined him from several early-season events last year.
Aiming for History at the Phoenix Open
Following The American Express, Scheffler will head to the Phoenix Open, where he secured victory in 2023. A third win at TPC Scottsdale would see him join an elite group of legends—including Arnold Palmer, Gene Littler, Mark Calcavecchia, and Phil Mickelson—each with three Phoenix Open wins.
Consistent Winning Streak
Scheffler has demonstrated remarkable consistency over the past four seasons, winning at least two events each year. Impressively, he has claimed 13 of his 19 Tour victories within the last two years.
With the 2026 season on the horizon, fans and analysts alike eagerly await Scottie Scheffler’s performances as he continues to solidify his place among golf’s elite.
