The 43rd Curtis Cup is fast approaching, and the team to represent Great Britain and Ireland has been announced. The eight-member team includes Sara Byrne, Beth Coulter, Hannah Darling, Aine Donegan, Lorna McClymont, Euphemie Rhodes, Patience Rhodes, and Lottie Woad. This team will be facing off against their USA rivals at the Sunningdale Golf Club at the end of the month. The top five players on the World Amateur Golf Ranking made the team, along with three captain’s selections.

Lottie Woad, currently the number one ranked women’s amateur player in the world, will lead the GB&I team. She is joined by sisters Euphemie and Patience Rhodes, who are the first sisters to compete in the Curtis Cup match since 2010. Anna Foster and Nellie Ong are the non-travelling reserves for the team. The biennial event will take place from August 30 to September 1 at the prestigious Sunningdale Golf Club.

The last time GB&I won the Curtis Cup was in 2016 when they secured a 11½-8½ victory in Ireland. This year, they are hoping to reclaim the famous trophy on home soil at Sunningdale Golf Club. Catriona Matthew, who has led Europe to back-to-back Solheim Cup victories, is the captain of the GB&I team. She is excited about the opportunity to lead the team and is looking forward to the match against the USA.

Tickets to watch the Curtis Cup at Sunningdale Golf Club are available for purchase on the R&A website. Adult day tickets are priced at £22, with a three-day pass costing £44. The event will showcase some of the top amateur golf talent from both Great Britain and Ireland, as they compete against the USA team for the coveted Curtis Cup. The tournament will take place on the Old Course at Sunningdale Golf Club from August 30 to September 1.

In 2021, the USA team emerged victorious in the Curtis Cup, but GB&I is determined to take back the trophy this year. The team is comprised of talented players who have been selected based on their performance and rankings in the amateur golf world. The excitement is building for this prestigious event, and fans can look forward to witnessing some incredible golfing action at Sunningdale Golf Club.
