Arccos continues to be a leader and innovator in the stat tracking category, with their club sensors and multi-platform compatibility making it easy for golfers to customize their experience. The new Arccos Link Pro has recently been released, promising improved battery life, better app connection, and a somewhat less complicated user experience. In this article, we will take a closer look at the Arccos Link Pro to see how well it performs.

Right out of the box, the Arccos Link Pro only needed a quick charge in the charging case before it was ready to go. The setup process involves an Arccos app update, after which the app recognizes the Link Pro, allowing users to start their round. The biggest change with the Link Pro is that it is no longer a belt clip, but instead sits in your pocket during the round. While this makes it harder to access the Pin button used to mark the pin location, the separation of the power button and pin button simplifies the user experience.

One of the major positives of the Arccos Link Pro is its improved battery life. During a recent golf trip where 36 holes were played each day, the Link Pro did not need a charge between rounds, unlike the previous version. Additionally, the charging case can wirelessly charge the Link Pro on the go, allowing for multiple rounds without needing to connect to a power outlet. The Link Pro also showed quicker connection to the phone app and better GPS signal throughout the round, requiring no reconnection to the app during play.

Despite the improvements, there are a few negatives to consider with the Arccos Link Pro. The removal of the belt clip and the need to carry the device in your pocket may be inconvenient for some users who prefer the previous setup. Additionally, the Pin button lacks feedback when pressed to mark the pin location, potentially causing some uncertainty for users. At $225, the value of the Arccos Link Pro depends on the user’s current experience with Arccos products. For existing Link owners, the upgrade may not be necessary unless extended battery life and wireless charging are essential.

In conclusion, the Arccos Link Pro offers some improvements over previous versions, such as better battery life and improved app connection, while also simplifying the user experience. While the removal of the belt clip and the placement of the device in the pocket may be a drawback for some users, the overall performance of the Link Pro makes it a worthy consideration for new Arccos users. With its ability to mark pin locations accurately and provide precise stats, the Arccos Link Pro enhances the golfing experience for those looking to track their game.
