Revolutionizing Golf Footwear: The True Linkswear Journey

ORLANDO, FL – In the dynamic world of professional golf, where tradition often reigns supreme, two brothers dared to ask, "Why should golf shoes feel the same?" In 2009, Jason Moore was alongside his brother Ryan, caddying on the PGA Tour, fresh from their upbringing on their father’s Linksman driving range in Tacoma, Washington. Deeply immersed in golf culture, they quickly recognized a significant gap in the equipment designed for athletes like themselves.

The Spark of Innovation

Jason’s perspective shifted dramatically after reading Born to Run, a book that explored the natural running habits of indigenous tribes. It prompted him to ponder the lack of innovation in golf footwear. "Why do none of them feel right?" he reflected.

Over dinner after a round, the brothers shared their frustrations about the outdated technologies in golf shoe design. "It was a very outdated technology platform being used in golf," Jason shared at the 2026 PGA Show, where True Linkswear showcased its latest offerings. He noted that most available options mimicked traditional dress shoes or lifestyle sneakers, failing to cater to the unique athletic motions of golfers.

A Bold New Approach

Determined to break the mold, Ryan, who wears a size 10, boldly donned early minimalist prototypes during competitive rounds. These innovative shoes were lighter, lower, and allowed his feet to move naturally—contrary to conventional golf shoe design. They had no playbook to guide them, and their initial release in 2010 sold out rapidly, confirming their instincts were spot on.

True Linkswear: A Growing Legacy

Fast forward to today: True Linkswear has established itself as a leader in ultra-comfortable, modern golf footwear that excels on and off the course. The brand has evolved, now offering a comprehensive collection catering to every golfer’s needs.

"We’re in that great spot right now where we kind of have something for everybody," Jason remarked.

However, True Linkswear’s mission extends beyond mass appeal; it strives to marry comfort, style, and performance. Designed for golfers who crave the feel of the ground beneath them, the aim is to promote a more liberated playing experience.

Ryan elaborated, “You’re on your feet for seven hours playing, practicing, and walking seven or more miles. You kind of want something that works well with your body.” He emphasized the importance of proper footwear, likening golf shoes to golf balls—critical components of the game. "I wish more people took the time to get fitted for the proper shoe the way they do for a golf ball.”

Innovative Product Development

Among the latest innovations is the Antigravity model, built for unpredictable conditions and long days. Featuring True’s new Pebax Superfoam midsole, these shoes provide a unique combination of featherweight cushioning, explosive rebound, and long-term durability. The design promotes lightweight stability, ensuring comfort throughout a round or an entire day off the course.

An Authentic Approach to Golf

Despite its growth to around 35 employees in Seattle, True Linkswear has maintained a close-knit, authentic connection to the game. Both brothers remain directly involved, with Ryan continuously testing new designs. "As soon as we get a sample in my size, it’s sent to me, and I will go out and practice in it," Ryan explained, highlighting their commitment to quality and real-world performance.

Conclusion

True Linkswear began with a simple question—one that many in the golf industry overlooked. By prioritizing innovation and authenticity, the Moore brothers have created golf footwear that truly reflects the needs of the modern golfer. As Jason said, “We actually care about the performance of the footwear in a level that most people don’t.”

With True Linkswear, comfort, style, and performance unite, paving the way for a new era in golf footwear.
