LIV Golf, a professional golf league, is introducing a mid-season trading window for the first time in its history. This trading period will allow team captains to make changes to their teams during the middle of the 14-event schedule. The trading window will run from May 8 to June 9, giving teams a month to negotiate trades and make player swaps. Players in the final year of their contract can also use this time to negotiate contract extensions with their current team. Greg Norman, the Commissioner of LIV Golf, believes that introducing a mid-season trading window will strengthen the competition…

When preparing for a PGA Tour event, players take their pre-round warm-up very seriously. Choosing the ideal warmup spot is crucial, with wind direction being a primary factor. Hitting into the wind provides quicker feedback on ball flight and curvature. Players will seek out a spot on the range that allows them to hit their preferred shot shape into the wind and away from any side boundaries. This provides a fuller set of targets and visual cues for the player during warmup. During the warmup session, players must remember the purpose of the session. While it’s easy to get caught…
Fast greens have always been a point of pride for many golf clubs, with golfers often equating the speed of greens with the quality of the course. However, architect Brian Schneider questions the importance of ultra-fast greens in good course design. He argues that extreme green speeds do not necessarily make the game more interesting or fun. In fact, Schneider believes that fast greens can actually slow down the game and make it less interesting for players. He points out that flattening greens to increase speed can impact the strategy of the game, as players no longer need to consider…
Pressure is a privilege in golf, with the adrenaline rush being a driving force for many players. Whether succeeding or failing, there are always valuable lessons to be learned from the experience. Since the Rules of Golf were updated in 2019, players must now drop their ball from knee height when taking relief, regardless of whether they are standing, bending over, or kneeling. The ball cannot touch any part of the body when dropped, and the player cannot influence its motion…

When it comes to golf, hot dogs are the classic go-to snack for many players.
