Give Your Game a Boost with L.A.B. Golf’s New OZ.1i HS Putter

Golf enthusiasts, listen up! If you haven’t heard of L.A.B. Golf yet, it’s time to pay attention. This up-and-coming equipment manufacturer is shaking things up on the golf course, especially with their innovative putters featuring Lie Angle Balance (L.A.B.) technology. This game-changing tech has been a game-changer for many golfers, making their putting strokes smoother and more consistent. Let’s dive into what makes L.A.B. Golf’s offerings so unique and why their latest putter, the OZ.1i HS, deserves a spot in your bag.

What’s the Big Deal About Lie Angle Balance Technology?

So, why is everyone buzzing about L.A.B. Golf? Well, it all boils down to their Lie Angle Balance tech. This nifty design helps golfers keep the putter face square throughout the entire stroke, which means less stress about misalignments and more focus on picking the right line and speed. Imagine swinging your putter without fretting over whether your face is earning its keep at impact—sounds great, right?

Behind the Scenes at L.A.B. Golf

I had the awesome opportunity to visit L.A.B. Golf’s headquarters in Eugene, Oregon, to check out the new heel-shafted OZ.1i HS putter. During my visit, I met Sam Hahn, the CEO, who shared some insights into why they designed this putter. Apparently, a lot of golfers love the tech but aren’t fans of the center-shafted look. Sam took all that feedback and created a putter that looks more traditional while still delivering all the performance we’ve come to love from L.A.B.

The Sweet Design of the OZ.1i HS Putter

Now, let’s talk about what sets the OZ.1i HS apart. The first thing you’ll notice? It’s got a slick heel-shafted design paired with a lightweight aluminum hosel. This combo keeps that crucial balance intact while giving you the strength and reliability you need for everyday use. No more worrying about how a bent hosel can screw up your performance—L.A.B. has crafted a pretty solid solution with a range of hosel lengths that allow for custom fitting without sacrificing aesthetics.

Custom Fit for Everyone

During my visit, I was lucky enough to get fitted for my own OZ.1i HS putter. My trusty Mezz.1 Max has been my go-to, but it was time to see what the new kid on the block could do. Being a shorter golfer (5’9"), I usually feel at home over a 33-inch putter, and that’s exactly what we settled on. L.A.B. even tailored the lie angle for me, allowing for comfortable setup and alignment. And let me tell you, they’ve got alignment options galore. I ended up choosing a design that was a bit more eye-catching than my usual pick, but it really helped in lining up my shots.

Shaft Choices Galore

When it comes to shafts, L.A.B. Golf isn’t messing around. They’ve really upped their game in the quality control department and have worked hard to ensure tighter tolerances for the shafts they use. You might think a shaft is just a shaft, but after testing several side by side, I can confidently say there’s a noticeable difference in feel and sound. I fell in love with the TPT shaft—it had the firmest feel among the ones I tried, and honestly, it just felt right.

Ready for Action

After getting fitted, they whipped up my custom putter while we grabbed lunch, which is such a nice touch! Ready to hit the course, I took the OZ.1i HS out for a spin. Trust me, the heel-shafted design offered me a slightly different view at address, but the real win was being able to see those alignment lines so clearly. My putting game felt so much more confident compared to previous L.A.B. models. The front 9 was a breeze, and I managed to sink some longer putts. The heat might’ve caught up with me on the back 9, but I felt pretty good overall!

Sound and Feel That Impress

Let’s talk feel and sound because that’s where the OZ.1i HS really shines. It delivers a satisfying, crisp feel that many golfers crave. The steel face offers speed and that solid touch we love—much better than my aluminum-faced options. Honestly, it feels and sounds like a traditional steel putter, which is a big win in my book.

Stability Through the Stroke

When putting, stability is key, and the L.A.B. OZ.1i HS did not disappoint. It felt neutral and didn’t have that “pulling” sensation I sometimes get with other putters. And while it may not be as stable as some other models, it certainly makes a worthy addition to any golfer’s arsenal. The design appeals to a wide range of players, whether you’ve got a straight stroke or a bit of arc.

Final Thoughts on the OZ.1i HS Putter

All in all, I think L.A.B. Golf has knocked it out of the park with the new OZ.1i HS putter. From the innovative design to the thoughtful adjustments in performance, they’ve catered to a real need among golfers—especially those who appreciate a more traditional look without sacrificing modern performance. If the previous designs of L.A.B. putters kept you from giving them a try, now’s the time to take a swing with this gorgeous new flatstick. You might just find your new favorite putting partner!

In a nutshell, the L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i HS putter is more than just another pretty face on the course; it’s a well-thought-out club that can improve your game, one putt at a time. So, don’t hesitate—give it a shot and see what all the fuss is about!
