Review of the Miura KM-700 Irons on Plugged In Golf

The Miura KM-700 irons are a new addition to the Miura lineup, developed by master craftsman Katsuhiro Miura over five years. These irons are designed to be suitable for golfers of all handicaps, making bold promises about their performance. In this review, we will dive into the looks, sound and feel, performance, and overall conclusion of the Miura KM-700 irons.

In terms of looks, the Miura KM-700 irons stand out with their classic blade design and minimal branding. The back of the club features three different levels and dramatic shaping at the toe, creating a visually striking appearance. The thin top line and well-proportioned heel-to-toe length contribute to the overall aesthetics of these irons. The transition from the hosel to the top line is the only minor critique in terms of looks.

When it comes to sound and feel, the Miura KM-700 irons excel. Made from S20C soft carbon steel, these irons provide a buttery soft feel on center strikes that is highly sought after by golf enthusiasts. The feedback is elite, with a solid feeling behind the hit and a subtle sharp sound as you move off center. The strike loses its sweetness on thin or toe-y strikes, providing clear feedback to the player.

In terms of performance, the Miura KM-700 irons are best suited for skilled ball strikers. The correlation between ball speed and distance to strike quality is precise, leading to excellent results with well-struck shots. While small misses may lose some yardage and smash factor, the forgiveness on thin strikes is notable due to the wider sole design. Launch and spin are average, with a more traditional loft that leads to a slightly higher launch compared to modern designs.

Despite the lack of revolutionary technology or game changing forgiveness, the Miura KM-700 irons deliver exceptional looks, feel, and shot control. Priced at $400 per club, these irons cater to players who prioritize craftsmanship and aesthetics over cutting-edge technology. If you have the ball striking skills to make these irons work, the Miura KM-700 will satisfy your desire for premium quality and performance.
