The Top 10 Golf Ball Brands of 2025: Insights and Trends

In the ever-evolving world of golf, golfers remain steadfast in their pursuit of the perfect golf ball. A recent survey conducted by MyGolfSpy has shed light on the latest preferences among golfers, highlighting the leading brands that have captured the hearts of players. With over 5,400 responses, this detailed analysis of golfer preferences offers a glimpse into the brands that stand tall in 2025.

Before diving into the rankings, it’s important to clarify the methodology behind these results. This survey captured the preferences of golf enthusiasts and involved over 5,400 participants, providing a robust sample size for analysis. Notably, this data was gathered prior to the introduction of Tour Edge Exotics and Amazon Basics golf balls, meaning these offerings are excluded from the insights we’ll present. In most instances, the percentage values discussed have been rounded for clarity, ensuring easy interpretation.

Titleist: The Uncontested Leader

As expected, Titleist emerges as the most popular golf ball brand, with over 29 percent of respondents selecting it as their favorite. Leading the charge is the renowned Pro V1, which alone attracted more than 12 percent of the votes. The Pro V1x followed closely, captivating nearly 9 percent of players. Interestingly, all of Titleist’s urethane options eclipsed the Surlyn alternatives, with the TruFeel being the least favored at just 1.23 percent. This trend underscores the ongoing preference for premium urethane models among serious golfers.

Maxfli: A Rising Star

Maxfli has carved a niche for itself as the second most popular brand, generating 15 percent of responses from our survey pool. Among these selections, the Tour X emerged as the favored model at 7.5 percent, with the Tour following closely behind at 5.5 percent. However, the Surlyn models from Maxfli barely registered in the survey, indicating a strong inclination towards the more advanced urethane offerings.

Callaway: Consistent Performance

With a solid 11.5 percent support, Callaway ranks third in terms of popularity among respondents. While the market identifies Supersoft as Callaway’s flagship model, it accounted for only 2.6 percent of our readers’ preferences. Surprisingly, the Chrome Soft holds a slightly higher position with a 3 percent preference rate. This data suggests that while Callaway has maintained a solid presence, it might need to intensify its outreach to elevate its standing among high-level players.

Srixon: Gaining Traction

Srixon has achieved an impressive 10.5 percent share among our audience, placing it fourth on our list. The popularity of the Z-Star Diamond (3 percent) is noteworthy, as it signifies a growing acceptance and preference for Srixon’s urethane offerings. Contrary to market trends, the brand’s SOFT FEEL model holds less appeal in our survey, further illustrating the specific inclinations of our respondents.

TaylorMade: Strong Contender

TaylorMade claims a respectable fifth place with just over 9 percent of responses. Its premium offerings, TP5x leading at 3 percent, showcase the brand’s appeal among serious golfers. The amateur-friendly Tour Response and TP5 models also garnered significant attention at 2.6 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively. However, the SpeedSoft model failed to capture the same enthusiasm, reflecting a shift towards higher-performance options within TaylorMade’s lineup.

Vice Golf: Affordable Excellence

With over 7 percent of the votes, Vice Golf has established itself as a formidable player by focusing on value without compromising quality. Leading the pack are its urethane offerings, Vice Pro and Vice Pro Plus, which captured 3.6 percent and 2.8 percent of the preferences, respectively. Other models from Vice were less favored, indicating that golfers continue to gravitate towards the brand’s standout products.

Costco/Kirkland: A Game Changer

Costco’s Kirkland brand has disrupted the golf ball market, receiving more than 5 percent of preferences from our knowledgeable respondents. Its performance-oriented model, the Kirkland Performance+, impressively secures a fifth-place ranking when compared to individual models. Notably, this underscores the potential of value-driven options to carve their way into a competitive environment traditionally dominated by established brands.

Bridgestone: A Familiar Face

Once a top contender, Bridgestone now sits in eighth place with only 4.5 percent of the respondents backing the brand. The TOUR B models continue to lead, with TOUR B X and TOUR B RX at 1.3 and 1.2 percent, respectively. While Bridgestone’s ionomer offerings are popular within a broader market, they appear less favored in our audience’s preferences, signaling a need for Bridgestone to adapt to consumer demands.

Wilson and Mizuno: The Underdogs

Wilson, with 3 percent support, ranks ninth, driven mainly by its Triad model at 1.3 percent. While this figure may seem modest, it demonstrates potential for growth if Wilson can enhance its product diversity. Mizuno rounds out the top ten with just under 0.8 percent, illustrating that the brand still has work to do to solidify its reputation in the golf ball category.
