Fifteen-year-old golf prodigy Miles Russell is set to make his PGA Tour debut at the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit this summer. After impressing at the Korn Ferry Tour earlier this year, Russell received a sponsor exemption for the event, making him the youngest golfer to play in the tournament. Known for his impressive skill on the course, Russell’s performance at the Lecom Suncoast Classic in April solidified his position as the No. 1 rated boys high school golf prospect in the nation.

Rocket Mortgage Classic director, Jason Langwell, highlighted Russell’s potential as a future star in the golf world, being one of the youngest players ever to make his PGA Tour debut as a high school freshman. In addition to Russell, several other notable players were added to the field for the tournament, including top-ranked players like Chris Kirk, Min Woo Lee, Francesco Molinari, Nicolai Hojgaard, Webb Simpson, and Nick Dunlap. These players bring a high level of competition to the event and are sure to make for an exciting tournament.

Among the returning players is defending champion Rickie Fowler, who expressed his excitement to return to Detroit to defend his title. Fowler’s win last year held special significance for him as it was his first victory since the birth of his daughter. Joining Fowler will be other PGA Tour winners like Will Zalatoris and Tom Kim, adding depth to the field and setting the stage for a competitive tournament. The event is scheduled to take place from June 27-30 at Detroit Golf Club.

With a mix of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming talent, the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic promises to be an exciting showcase of the best in professional golf. The addition of young phenom Miles Russell adds an element of intrigue to the tournament, as fans will have the opportunity to witness the emergence of a potential future star in the sport. As the event approaches, golf enthusiasts can look forward to four days of thrilling competition and memorable moments on the course in Detroit.

Stay tuned for updates on the tournament, including player interviews, highlights, and analysis of the action on the course. Follow along as these top golfers compete for the coveted title and the opportunity to etch their name in the history books of the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Whether you’re a die-hard golf fan or a casual observer, the 2024 edition of the tournament promises to deliver excitement and drama, as the best players in the world vie for supremacy on the picturesque grounds of Detroit Golf Club.
