Increasing clubhead speed is a common goal for many golfers, and for good reason. By generating more speed, golfers can improve their approach shots, short game, putting, and overall course management. One way to achieve this is through dedicated training, practice, and a structured plan. Long-drive competitor and world-record holder Seb Twaddell shares two helpful drills in a Golf Science Lab video to help golfers increase their clubhead speed.

One of the drills Twaddell recommends is the baseball drill, which involves using a similar motion to throwing a baseball or swinging a baseball bat. This drill focuses on a linear weight shift from the back foot to the front foot, allowing for more rotation and clubhead speed. Twaddell admits that this drill was initially challenging for him to incorporate into his training, but with practice, he was able to see improvements in his clubhead speed.

Another drill recommended by Twaddell is single arm swings, which help golfers utilize each part of the swing to add force. By focusing on turning and getting a big lat stretch at the top of the swing, golfers can generate more power and speed. Twaddell suggests that by incorporating these drills into their practice routines, golfers can see significant gains in clubhead speed over time, leading to longer drives on the course.

For golfers looking to take their speed training to the next level, the Rypstick Training Package offers an all-in-one speed training system. This package includes the Rypstick, which features three interchangeable weights and an optional counterweight, allowing golfers to train for speed without the need to swap out heads. The RypRadar 2.0, included in the package, allows golfers to accurately track their progress towards building game-changing speed.

The Rypstick Training Package is trusted by over 100 Tour athletes, 10 long drive competitors, and over 1000 teaching professionals. With options for different training package variations, golfers can choose the package that best fits their needs and goals. Whether using the Rypstick with the RypRadar 2.0 or the Rapsodo MLM or MLM2PRO, golfers can measure and track their speed performance to continue improving their clubhead speed and overall game.

In conclusion, increasing clubhead speed is a crucial aspect of improving a golfer’s performance on the course. By incorporating drills like the baseball drill and single arm swings, golfers can focus on generating controlled speed that promotes center-face contact for more distance and accuracy. Additionally, utilizing tools like the Rypstick Training Package can help golfers track their progress and make adjustments to their training routines to continue seeing improvements in their clubhead speed and overall game.
