The USGA team at the U.S. Open Merchandise Pavilion is gearing up for the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst in mid-June, which also marks their 1,000th USGA championship. With a 35,000-square-foot Merchandise Pavilion, the goal is to provide a seamless shopping experience for the 20,000 transactions that take place on a busy Friday or Saturday at the U.S. Open. The team consists of 15 USGA staffers, 20 interns, nearly 1,200 volunteers, and 300 merchandise vendor representatives who work together to ensure a successful operation during the 11-day event.

The merchandise pavilion offers a wide range of products to cater to the 19,500 fans who visit during the U.S. Open Championship. Customers are greeted by a dedicated team of staff who help them with sizing, product selection, and checkout, aiming to provide a positive experience for each individual. The team has spent significant time strategizing and planning for the championship to ensure a smooth operation during the four-day pre-sale and championship week.

USGA Merchandise Pavilion is known for its impressive retail experience that exceeds customers’ expectations. With a focus on finding the next hot product, up-and-coming vendors, and local craftsmen, the team is passionate about their efforts as they help fund various initiatives of the USGA. Every purchase made at the merchandise pavilion supports deserving players in the U.S. National Development Program, preserves golf history through the USGA Museum, and advances turfgrass research for a more sustainable game.

Mary Lopusynski, USGA managing director of merchandising and licensing, reflects on her journey in the golf industry, starting from her early days working with golf instructor Jim McLean. She emphasizes the importance of teamwork and the synergy it creates in delivering a great fan experience during the U.S. Open Championship. Lopusynski invites fans to visit the merchandise pavilion at Pinehurst and experience the excitement firsthand.

The USGA Merchandise Pavilion plays a crucial role in supporting the initiatives of the USGA, including the development of young players, preservation of the sport’s history, and research for a sustainable future. With a dedicated team and strategic planning, the merchandise pavilion aims to provide a memorable shopping experience for fans attending the U.S. Open Championship. Visit the pavilion at Pinehurst and discover a world of golf merchandise and memorabilia that supports the future of the game.
