Cabot, a Canadian-based golf resort operator, has recently expanded its properties globally, including Scotland, the Caribbean, the U.S., and soon, western Canada. This week, Cabot co-founder and CEO Ben Cowan-Dewar announces the company’s expansion to France with the purchase of Golf Du Médoc Resort in Bordeaux, to be rebranded as Cabot Bordeaux. The resort, home to two golf courses designed by Bill Coore and Rod Whitman, is highly acclaimed, with rankings among the best courses in the world.

With the purchase of Golf Du Médoc Resort, Cabot adds a French property to its diverse portfolio of golf resorts. The resort, less than a half-hour drive from Bordeaux, offers a breathtaking setting and world-class golf designed by Coore and Whitman. The property includes a preexisting 79-room hotel, upscale restaurant, spa, and potential for additional cabins and cottages. Cabot plans to update the property with location-specific activities and expanded amenities.

While the focus will be on polishing the golf courses, Cabot also plans to convert one of the driving ranges into a par-3 course, a popular trend among top resorts. The company has experienced rapid growth in recent years, expanding from 36 to 90 full-size holes of golf, with more developments on the horizon. Cabot’s global expansion includes properties in Scotland, Saint Lucia, Florida, and upcoming projects in western Canada.

The addition of Cabot Bordeaux adds a touch of French sophistication to the company’s international flavor. The resort offers a distinctly French experience, complementing Cabot’s other properties around the world. Cabot’s success is driven by a focus on great golf, with expansion plans guided by the commitment to providing exceptional golf experiences to players worldwide.

The company’s expansion strategy has transformed Cabot from a regional player to a worldwide force in the golf industry in just three years. Cowan-Dewar expressed excitement about the future prospects and potential for further growth. Cabot’s commitment to excellence in golf and unique, diverse experiences for players sets them apart in the industry and positions them as a leading global golf resort operator.
