Dream Golf has announced its latest project in the Florida Panhandle, where architect Tom Doak has designed an 18-hole course named Old Shores. The approval for the development order was received from Washington County, marking the first step in the construction process. The course will be located 30 miles north of the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, making it easily accessible from the 30A region of beaches in South Walton County and Panama City Beach.

The property where Old Shores will be built covers 80 acres out of a total of 1,438 acres that have been acquired by Dream Golf. The name, Old Shores, is inspired by the sandy dunes on the site that used to be shoreline before the Gulf of Mexico receded to its current boundaries thousands of years ago. Developer Michael Keiser expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the diverse environments and unique features of the site.

Michael Keiser, along with his brother Chris, are developers known for their work on projects such as Sand Valley in Wisconsin, Rodeo Dunes in Colorado, and Wild Springs Dunes in Texas. Tom Doak, the renowned golf course architect, has an impressive resume that includes designing top-ranked courses like Pacific Dunes at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon and Sedge Valley at Sand Valley. His collaboration with Dream Golf on Old Shores promises to deliver a world-class experience for golf enthusiasts.

The development order approved by Washington County sets the stage for the construction of Old Shores, but no specific timetable has been announced. The site’s natural beauty and varied terrain have inspired the developers and architect to create a unique golfing experience that showcases the diverse landscapes found in the area. The project is set to offer a challenging and engaging layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels.

With Dream Golf’s track record of successful projects like Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and Sand Valley, the anticipation around Old Shores has been steadily building. The strategic location of the course, combined with Tom Doak’s expertise in creating world-class courses, bodes well for the success of this new venture. Golfers in the Florida Panhandle and beyond can look forward to a memorable golfing experience at Old Shores once all necessary permits are in place.

As the process of obtaining approvals and permits continues, Dream Golf remains committed to presenting their plans for Old Shores to the Washington County authorities. The enthusiastic reception from the local community and officials has been instrumental in moving the project forward. Michael Keiser’s vision for the course, combined with Tom Doak’s design expertise, sets the stage for an exceptional golfing destination that will attract visitors from near and far.

In conclusion, the announcement of Old Shores as the newest project from Dream Golf signals another exciting chapter in the development of golf courses in the Florida Panhandle. With the involvement of renowned architect Tom Doak and the backing of the Keiser family, this project is poised to set a new standard for golf course design and playability in the region. Golf enthusiasts can look forward to a world-class experience at Old Shores, where the natural beauty of the site will be harmoniously integrated with the challenging course layout.
