Potential Reopening of Short Golf Course Near Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Golf Center, a short, lighted golf course located near the Las Vegas strip and Harry Reid International Airport, has recently shut down. The course, which was designed by Robert Cupp and previously known as the TaylorMade Golf Experience, sits on 42 acres of land. Despite the closure, a new owner is looking to reopen the golf center in the coming weeks. The airport, which acquired the land in 2023 for $135 million, has canceled the lease with the previous operator and is now seeking new proposals for a tenant.

The new operator of the Las Vegas Golf Center is currently working on plans to reopen the facility. While there are no concrete details available at the moment, the hope is to have the golf center fully operational soon. The airport spokeswoman confirmed that a request for proposals would be issued to find a new tenant for the prime location at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road. The acreage, previously owned by Urban Land Investment, falls within the airport’s runway protection zone, making it an attractive location for potential development.

In addition to the short course, the Las Vegas Golf Center features a 113-stall two-tier driving range with both synthetic and natural turf hitting areas. A putting and short-game area also provides golfers with the opportunity to practice and improve their skills. The golf center’s convenient location near the airport and the Las Vegas strip makes it a popular destination for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy a round of golf in the city. As plans for a new tenant are underway, the future of the Las Vegas Golf Center remains uncertain, but the hope is that it will soon be back in operation for golf enthusiasts to enjoy.
