The LPGA’s 2024 season is kicking off with the Tournament of Champions, following a short offseason. This year’s season includes 33 events, including the five majors, the Solheim Cup, and the Olympics. In anticipation of the upcoming season, here are five bold predictions for what’s to come.

Lydia Ko, after a challenging 2023 season, is predicted to bounce back and win twice, securing her spot in the LPGA Hall of Fame. Ko finished last season strong with a third-place finish at the BMW Ladies Championship and a victory at the Grant Thornton Invitational. With a new swing coach and renewed momentum, Ko is expected to make a significant impact this year.

Rising star Rose Zhang is predicted to represent the U.S. in the Olympics. Despite currently being ranked 25th in the world, Zhang has the potential to climb up the rankings and secure a spot in the Olympics. With her limited tournament schedule, each event she plays in will impact her world ranking, giving her a strong chance to qualify for the Olympics.

Brooke Henderson is predicted to win her third major title by defending her title at Sahalee. Henderson has a history of performing well at venues where she has previously won, making her a strong contender for the title. A victory at Sahalee would solidify her status as one of the modern greats on the LPGA tour.

Europe is predicted to keep the Solheim Cup for the fourth consecutive time, with Leona Maguire leading the team. With a strong roster and experienced players, Europe is expected to continue their winning streak and secure another victory in the U.S. With a lack of major roster changes from the previous year, Europe has the advantage and is poised to come out on top.

Lexi Thompson is predicted to win on the LPGA tour for the first time in five years. Despite a challenging 2023 season, Thompson showed promise at the Solheim Cup and ended the year with strong performances. With multiple opportunities to represent the U.S. this year, Thompson’s motivation is at an all-time high, making her a contender for her 12th LPGA victory.

Overall, the 2024 LPGA season is shaping up to be an exciting one, with many players vying for titles and spots in prestigious events such as the Hall of Fame, the Olympics, and the Solheim Cup. Fans can expect to see some fierce competition and thrilling moments on the course as the season unfolds. Keep an eye out for these bold predictions and see how they play out as the season progresses.
