Close House, a prestigious golf club, recently announced Jess Baker as their new attached Ladies Tour Professional. A Newcastle native and recent graduate of the University of Central Florida with a BSc in Psychology, Jess has returned home to focus on her professional golf career on the Ladies European and Access Tours. She achieved the pinnacle of her amateur career by winning the prestigious 2022 Women’s Amateur Championship at Hunstanton Golf Club, earning her entry into four Major Championships and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2023. Jess has also represented England at both U18 and senior levels, including a strong performance at the European Ladies Team Championships in 2023.

Since turning professional in August, Jess has made an immediate impression on the LET Access Tour, securing her playing status for 2025 in just six starts. In December, she delivered a standout performance at Q-School in Morocco, where birdies on her final three holes earned her category 16 status on the Ladies European Tour. This status provides Jess the opportunity to compete against Europe’s best players throughout the 2025 season. Reflecting on her new attachment, Jess expressed her gratitude for the support Close House has provided her in practicing and preparing for tournaments on a championship course like Close House, which has been instrumental in her development on the LET.

Sir Graham Wylie, owner of Close House, shared his excitement about the partnership with Jess Baker, highlighting her talent and determination as key attributes for success. The partnership with Jess Baker further cements Close House’s status as a leading destination for the game, reflecting the club’s ongoing dedication to fostering talent and hosting world-class golf. Jess Baker’s attachment to Close House represents a significant step in her professional golf career, providing her with the resources and support needed to compete at the highest level of the sport. Her success on the LET Access Tour and securing her playing status for 2025 demonstrate her talent and potential to succeed on the Ladies European Tour. Close House’s recognition of Jess’s abilities and commitment to supporting her in her journey is a testament to the club’s reputation for nurturing young talent and providing a platform for aspiring golfers to thrive. Jess’s role as an ambassador for Close House positions her as a role model for aspiring golfers, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and excel in the sport.

Jess Baker’s attachment to Close House signifies the club’s investment in promoting women’s golf and fostering the growth of the game. By supporting talented female golfers like Jess, Close House is contributing to the advancement of women’s golf on a broader scale, encouraging more young girls to take up the sport and pursue competitive opportunities. Jess’s success story also serves as a source of inspiration for other female golfers, demonstrating that with hard work, dedication, and support, they too can achieve their goals in the sport.
