Mizuno Launches the M.CRAFT City Series Putters: A Fusion of Tradition and Technology

Mizuno, a name synonymous with quality golf equipment, is taking a significant departure from its modern designs with the introduction of the M.CRAFT City Series putters. This new line marks a return to classic construction methods, moving away from the modular designs of the previous M.CRAFT X line released in 2025. Let’s explore the unique characteristics of the M.CRAFT City Series and what sets these putters apart in the world of golf.

Key Features of the Mizuno M.CRAFT City Series

1. Forged Construction

Mizuno’s reputation for exceptional forging techniques remains at the core of the M.CRAFT City Series. Each putter is crafted from 1025E mild carbon steel, known for its uniform grain structure. This not only represents a nod to Mizuno’s rich history in precision metalworking but also contributes to improved performance through enhanced consistency.

The putters feature a multi-layer construction, encompassing:

  • A forged carbon steel core for stability.
  • A soft copper layer for optimized feel.
  • A chrome outer layer for weather protection.

2. Adjustable Weighting

Adjustable Weighting

The City Series incorporates adjustable weights, enhancing the fitting process. Mizuno provides a 20-gram adjustability range that not only alters the overall weight but also affects swing weight and center of gravity. This feature allows golfers to fine-tune their putter for a personalized experience—making it an essential part of any putter fitting session.

3. Refined Geometries

Refined Geometries

Using cutting-edge CAD software, Mizuno engineered refined geometries to manipulate the center of gravity of each putter. Notably, the toe section is larger than the heel section to optimize the impact position.

The soles of these putters are thicker than typical designs, reminiscent of Mizuno’s OMOI line, adding stiffness and improving the sound and feel upon impact.

4. Deep Milled Face

Deep Milled Face

Each putter in the M.CRAFT City Series features a deep-milled face designed to reduce the area contacting the ball. This design enhances the soft feel, a crucial characteristic for putters, thereby enriching the overall putting experience.

5. Finish and Hosel Options

Golfers can choose between two finishes: Nickel or Gray Ion. Additionally, various hosel options are available, providing greater fitting flexibility.

Final Thoughts on the M.CRAFT City Series Putters

Mizuno’s return to traditional forging methods with the M.CRAFT City Series demonstrates their commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The series combines classic artistry with advanced technology, creating putters that enhance the golfer’s experience on the course.

At a competitive price of $299.99, the M.CRAFT City Series offers exceptional value, especially in a market where $400 putters are becoming the norm. Pre-sale begins on January 26, with the putters hitting shelves on February 12.

Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting, the Mizuno M.CRAFT City Series putters are designed to elevate your game through thoughtful engineering and impeccable craftsmanship.
