The Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy hi-tech team golf league, known as TGL, has generated a lot of buzz and intrigue among golf fans. The league features 24 players, including top golfers such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, and many more. These players are divided into six teams of four to compete in weekly matches starting on January 7th and ending with the final on March 24th.

The six teams in the TGL are Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links GC, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and The Bay Golf Club. Each team will play against the other five teams in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals and the winners meeting in the final match. The league format consists of 3v3 matches over 15 holes, with points awarded for each hole won and no ties allowed.

The TGL utilizes Full Swing simulator technology for its matches, including launch monitors, virtual greens, and gameplay systems. Players are required to adhere to a shot clock of 40 seconds per shot, with penalties for exceeding the time limit. Teams are also allowed four timeouts per match, which can only be used in specific situations.

The matches take place at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in a stadium with seating for 1,500 spectators. Fans can watch the TGL on ESPN and ESPN+ in the US, Sky Sports in the UK, Sportsnet in Canada, Fox Sports Australia, U-NEXT in Japan, and JTBC Golf Channel in Korea. The league features custom-designed virtual holes created by top golf course designers such as Jack Nicklaus.

The TGL match schedule includes matchups between the six teams, with each team playing against the others at various times throughout the season. Tickets for TGL matches start at $160 per match, with fans able to watch the action unfold on the massive 64ft x 53ft Full Swing simulator screen. Overall, the TGL promises to be an exciting and innovative addition to the world of professional golf.
