Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake have obtained approval from St Andrews Council to transform an old cinema into a luxury sports bar called T-Squared Social. The bar will feature sports simulators, duckpin bowling, and darts, while still maintaining two cinema screens. This redevelopment project is being led by real estate company Nexus Luxury Collection, in which Woods and Timberlake are shareholders, with the goal of enhancing the conservation area and creating around 40 to 45 new jobs.

The owners of the cinema have expressed their support for the bar proposal, stating that the current cinema operation is no longer viable due to low occupancy rates. The addition of T-Squared Social will provide the local community with a wider range of cinema, dining, and entertainment options, helping to secure the future of cinema in the area. Woods and Timberlake conceived the idea for the sports bar during a round of golf at their Bahamas development, with Woods expressing his fond memories of playing at St Andrews and the importance of creating a welcoming space for both locals and tourists.

T-Squared Social’s CEO and managing partner, Christopher Anand, emphasized the company’s commitment to preserving the historic architecture of the cinema while breathing new life into the space. The bar will operate seven days a week, offering a unique blend of entertainment options for patrons. The cinema, which originally opened in 1930 and can accommodate 700 people, will retain key architectural features like the ceiling, walls, and stage. The project is expected to commence within the next three years.

Tiger Woods’ partnership with Justin Timberlake in T-Squared Social marks the expansion of the sports bar concept beyond New York, where the first venue was launched last September. The addition of golf simulators, bowling, and darts to the St Andrews location will cater to a diverse range of interests among visitors. The integration of cinema screens adds a unique element to the sports bar experience, offering a blend of entertainment options in one venue.

The collaboration between Woods and Timberlake reflects their shared passion for golf and desire to create a memorable experience for patrons of T-Squared Social. By combining their expertise in their respective fields, they aim to establish a successful venture that contributes to the cultural and entertainment landscape of St Andrews. The sports bar concept aligns with the evolving preferences of consumers seeking interactive and engaging social experiences in unique settings.

Overall, the transformation of the old cinema into T-Squared Social represents a significant investment in the local community and a strategic opportunity to revitalize the cultural and entertainment offerings in St Andrews. The project’s focus on preserving the building’s historic character while introducing modern amenities underscores a commitment to sustainable development and the enrichment of the area’s cultural heritage. With the support of local authorities and stakeholders, T-Squared Social is poised to become a prominent destination for residents and tourists seeking a dynamic and vibrant social experience.
