Golf Digest is committed to providing its community with the best in golf, which is why they have launched the Golf Digest Happy Hour exclusively for Golf Digest+ members. These Happy Hours feature webinars with golf insiders such as top coaches, pros, course architects, fitness trainers, equipment fitters, and other industry experts. Each webinar dives into topics that golf enthusiasts care about and provides them with the opportunity to join the discussion. Non-members can sign up to become Golf Digest+ members to participate in future Happy Hours and access recordings of previous webinars.

One edition of the Golf Digest Happy Hour focused on the importance of clubfitting in improving your game. Chris Marchini, Golf Galaxy’s director of golf experience and lead clubfitter at the Golf Digest Hot List, shared insights on equipment, dispelling misconceptions about golf clubs, the frequency of changing wedges, considerations for hybrids, and more. Discussions included the relevance of clubfitting, benefits for average players, common equipment mistakes, and often overlooked golf club setups. Members had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session to learn more about finding the right clubs for their game.

Another Happy Hour explored the history of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters, shedding light on the near demise of the club and the ambitious plans that saved it. David Owen, a renowned golf historian and author of “The Making of the Masters,” shared insights on the early financial challenges faced by Augusta National and how it evolved into the prestigious club it is today. Owen’s exclusive access to the club’s archives allowed him to delve into its fascinating past and explore the vision that shaped its future.

Dr. Bhrett McCabe, a licensed clinical and sports psychologist who works with golfers on tour, including Jon Rahm and Billy Horschel, provided valuable insights on overcoming mental obstacles in golf during a Happy Hour session. Dr. McCabe discussed common mental challenges faced by golfers and offered strategies to avoid them, such as transitioning from practice to the course, building confidence, and managing expectations on the putting green. Members had the opportunity to engage with Dr. McCabe and gain valuable insights into enhancing their mental game.

For junior golfers aspiring to play college golf, the recruiting process can be overwhelming. In a dedicated Happy Hour session, Dr. Katie Brophy Miles, a former Georgetown women’s golf coach and founder of Golf Globally, shared advice on navigating the recruiting process. Dr. Miles covered topics like common recruiting myths, tournament selection, finding the right school fit, and tips for supportive golf parents. Members had the chance to ask questions and gain valuable insights into the college golf recruiting journey.

Scott Fawcett, creator of the DECADE Golf course-management system, joined a Golf Digest Happy Hour to discuss playing smarter golf using data-driven strategies. Fawcett’s system, popular among PGA Tour players and college golfers, focuses on limiting strategic mistakes on the course. By utilizing Strokes Gained statistics and shot patterns, Fawcett shared insights on course strategy and debunked common myths about playing golf. Members learned how they can adopt the same strategies used by tour players to improve their own game.

In conclusion, Golf Digest’s Happy Hour webinars offer valuable insights into various aspects of golf, including equipment fitting, club selection, mental game strategies, and college golf recruiting. By engaging with industry experts and insiders, members gain access to exclusive knowledge and advice to enhance their golfing experience. Whether you’re looking to improve your equipment choices, course management skills, mental resilience, or college recruitment prospects, Golf Digest’s Happy Hours provide a platform to learn and grow as a golfer. Join the Golf Digest+ community to access future Happy Hour sessions and unlock a wealth of golfing knowledge to elevate your game.
