One Week Until Deadline for 2024 Paris Summer Olympics Men’s Golf Field

The Olympics are almost here and this year’s golf competition will be held at Le Golf National in Paris, the same venue that hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup. The men’s competition will take place from August 1-4, followed by the women’s competition from August 7-10. This will be the third consecutive Olympic Games to include golf after its return to the schedule in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The qualifying criteria for the Olympics ensures representation from around the world, with just 60 players earning a spot based on the official International Golf Federation world ranking list as of June 17, 2024.

The top-15 players in the world are eligible to compete, with a limit of four players from any given country. The remaining spots in the field will be filled based on the rankings, with a maximum of two eligible players from each country that does not already have two or more players in the top 15. The host country, France, is guaranteed at least one spot in the competition. In the coming week, the final list of players heading to Paris will be confirmed, but some golfers will have one last opportunity to secure a spot at Pinehurst.
