Changes to the 2026 FedEx Cup Fall Schedule: What You Need to Know

Napa, California – Scottie Scheffler’s recent victory at the Procore Championship in September raised an unexpected question about his future tournament commitments. The current World No. 1 was in Napa primarily for a Ryder Cup tune-up, narrowly defeating teammate Ben Griffin while Lanto Griffin took third. Despite the win, Scheffler’s participation in the Procore Championship remains uncertain as it is not a regular stop on his calendar.

Scheffler expressed his hesitance regarding future commitments: “I barely know what I’m going to do tomorrow, let alone a year from now. It’s always nice to have an opportunity to come and defend your championships, but we’ll have to cross that bridge when we get there. I’ve been pretty consistent with that over time. I don’t like committing to tournaments unless I know for sure I’m going to play.”

However, this uncertainty evaporated when the PGA Tour announced its 2026 FedEx Cup Fall Schedule, which notably does not include the Procore Championship. In addition to this, the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi, has also been removed from the lineup. This tournament has been a staple of the PGA Tour since 1968.

Overview of the FedEx Cup Fall Schedule

The FedEx Cup Fall series consists of eight tournaments designed to determine PGA Tour cards and eligibility for the upcoming season. Here’s a look at the key changes and new additions to the schedule:

  1. Biltmore Championship Asheville, NC

    • Location: The Cliffs at Walnut Cove
    • Noteworthy: This marks the first PGA Tour event in the area in over 80 years, dating back to when Ben Hogan won the Asheville Open from 1940-1942.
  2. Bank of Utah Championship

    • Location: Black Desert Resort
  3. Baycurrent Classic

    • Location: Yokohama Country Club, Japan
  4. Butterfield Bermuda Championship

  5. VidantaWorld Mexico Open

    • Location: Mexico
  6. World Wide Technology Championship

    • Location: Mexico
  7. Good Good Championship

    • Location: Omni Baron Creek Resort and Spa, Austin, TX
    • Noteworthy: This will be the inaugural event and the first Tour stop in Austin in three years.
  8. RSM Classic
    • Location: Sea Island Golf Club

Conclusion

The alterations to the FedEx Cup Fall schedule reflect the PGA Tour’s ongoing evolution. For golf enthusiasts and players alike, these changes promise an exciting season ahead, with new venues and opportunities. While Scottie Scheffler’s future participation remains to be seen, the series will undoubtedly showcase thrilling competitions as players vie for their spots in the next season.

Stay tuned for further updates and player insights as the 2026 season approaches.
