The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs are coming to a close, and the focus is shifting to the upcoming Presidents Cup, where the International team will aim to defeat the United States team for the first time since 1998. This year, the event will take place at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada. Each team consists of six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks, giving captains Jim Furyk and Mike Weir the freedom to choose their teams as they see fit.

For the United States team, the automatic qualifiers are determined by FedEx Cup points. The top six players on the list include Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, and Sahith Theegala. Additionally, Vincenzi provides his personal captain’s picks, which include Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Akshay Bhatia, and Billy Horschel. Notable players who missed out on the team include Justin Thomas, Nick Dunlap, Max Homa, Cameron Young, and Brian Harman.

The International team’s automatic qualifiers are selected based on Official World Golf Ranking points. The top six players on the list include Hideki Matsuyama, Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Jason Day, Adam Scott, and Byeong Hun An. Vincenzi’s captain’s picks for the International team consist of Corey Conners, Min Woo Lee, Cameron Davis, Taylor Pendrith, Si Woo Kim, and Jhonnatan Vegas. Players who narrowly missed out include Adam Hadwin, Mackenzie Hughes, Nick Taylor, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Erik Van Rooyen, Emiliano Grillo, and Ryan Fox.

Some notable picks for the International team include Min Woo Lee, who brings power and swagger to the team, and Si Woo Kim, who has a track record of performing well in team events. For the United States team, players like Keegan Bradley and Billy Horschel offer experience and match play prowess. With the event being held in Canada, Canadian players like Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith will have the home crowd behind them.

The selections for each team are based on a combination of recent form, experience in team events, and the ability to perform under pressure. The Presidents Cup provides an opportunity for players to represent their countries and compete against some of the best players in the world in a team format. Both teams will be looking to secure victory and showcase their skills on the international stage. Fans can look forward to an exciting competition at Royal Montreal Golf Club as the United States and International teams battle it out for Presidents Cup glory.
