The Italian Open is one of the penultimate European Swing tournaments of the DP World Tour season. Held at the Adriatic Golf Club this year, the event boasts the largest non-Rolex Series purse of the season at $3.25m. The tournament has a rich history with winners like Jose Maria Olazabal, Bernhard Langer, and Greg Norman. The defending champion, Adrian Meronk, will not be present to defend his title after signing for LIV Golf earlier this year. This year’s winner will take home $552,500, with the runner-up earning $357,500.

With only the BMW International Open remaining in the European Swing phase, competition is heating up for the bonus $200,000 awarded to the winner of the section. Nacho Elvira currently leads the way, followed by Laurie Canter and Guido Migliozzi, the winner of last week’s KLM Open. The top two players not otherwise exempt will secure a spot in The Open at Royal Troon. Stay updated with the latest tour news and equipment reviews by subscribing to the Golf Monthly newsletter.

The prize money payout for the Italian Open is as follows: 1st place – $552,500, 2nd place – $357,500, 3rd place – $204,750, and so on down to 60th place, which earns $9,425. Star names in this year’s tournament include LIV Golf’s Patrick Reed, Guido Migliozzi, Matteo Manassero, Edoardo Molinari, Nacho Elvira, Adrian Otaegui, and Pablo Larrazzabal. Former winners of the tournament in the field include Ross McGowan, Bernd Wiesberger, and Danny Willett.

The Italian Open is known to be one of the most lucrative events on the DP World Tour, with a purse of $3.25m up for grabs. The winner will earn $552,500, making it a highly coveted title for the players. In 2023, Adrian Meronk emerged victorious at the Marco Simone venue, but he will not be present this year after joining LIV Golf. Fans can expect an exciting competition as top players battle it out for the prestigious title and a significant cash prize.

Get ready for an intense showdown at the Italian Open as top players from around the world gather to compete for glory and a substantial prize fund. With names like Patrick Reed, Guido Migliozzi, and Matteo Manassero in the field, fans can expect thrilling action on the course. Whether you’re a golf enthusiast or a casual viewer, the Italian Open promises to deliver suspense, drama, and excitement as the players vie for victory. Stay tuned for updates on the tournament and follow your favorite players as they battle it out for the title of Italian Open champion.
