The road to the 80th U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills in 2025 will be lined with familiar venues, as the USGA recently announced the 26 qualifying sites for the prestigious tournament. Among the 23 U.S. sites hosting qualifiers are Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco, Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Salem Country Club in Massachusetts, and Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, all of which have previously hosted a U.S. Women’s Open. The reigning champion, Yuka Saso, won her first U.S. Women’s Open at Olympic Club in 2021 and followed it up with another victory in 2024 at Lancaster Country Club.

This year will mark the first time that Erin Hills in Hartford, Wis., will host a U.S. Women’s Open, becoming the 16th course to host both the men’s and women’s U.S. Open. Brooks Koepka famously won the men’s U.S. Open at Erin Hills in 2017. The 2025 U.S. Women’s Open qualifiers will take place at various dates and locations across the United States, Japan, Canada, and Italy, offering players from around the world the chance to compete for a spot in the prestigious tournament. Some of these qualifying sites include Canyon Creek Country Club in Texas, Duke University Golf Club in North Carolina, Golf Club Ambrosiano in Milan, Italy, and Honolulu Country Club in Hawaii.

The U.S. Women’s Open has a rich history of champions, with legends like Betsy Rawls, Janet Alex, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, and Hollis Stacy having won titles at past host venues. The tournament offers a platform for talented female golfers to showcase their skills on a national and international stage, and the qualifying process allows players of all backgrounds the opportunity to earn a spot in the prestigious field. The USGA’s selection of qualifying sites ensures that players from different regions have access to the opportunity to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open.

The qualifying process for the U.S. Women’s Open is a rigorous and competitive journey, as players must navigate through a series of qualifying rounds to secure a spot in the championship field.
