The PXG Secret Weapon is a game-changing mini driver that offers excellent ball speed and accuracy. It was recently used by Jake Knapp to win the Grant Thornton Invitational and has since been getting a lot of attention in the golf world. With the ability to keep you in play off the tee and bring long par 5s into reach, this club is worth considering for your bag.

The PXG Secret Weapon has a unique look at address, resembling an oversized fairway wood rather than a driver. The proportions are similar to PXG’s Black Ops fairway wood, with the only major difference being the face depth. The club features a sleek black design with a carbon fiber crown and four weight ports on the sole. Additionally, the head cover with the “Shhh” Skull design adds a fun and edgy touch to the overall aesthetic.

When it comes to sound and feel, the PXG Secret Weapon provides a satisfying experience. The impact produces a mid-pitch “pop” sound that matches the excellent ball speed the club generates. Off-center shots may feel slightly less solid, but when you strike the ball in the center, you get a strong and forceful feel. This feedback ensures that you can easily tell when you’ve made a solid connection with the ball.

In terms of performance, the PXG Secret Weapon delivers on its promises of being a more forgiving and accurate driver alternative. Testing the club off the turf showed that despite its face height, it produced excellent ball speed and low spin. When used off the tee, the club provided exceptional accuracy with increased loft and a shorter shaft length. The ability to customize the weighting and adjust the hosel further enhances the club’s versatility.

Mini drivers like the PXG Secret Weapon require some experimentation with tee height and swing adjustments due to their unique design. However, once you find the right setup for your game, this club can be a valuable addition to your bag. By fine-tuning the weighting and hosel settings, you can customize the club to suit your needs, whether you prefer a more forgiving, draw-biased setup or a lower spin option for increased ball speed.

Overall, the PXG Secret Weapon is a versatile club that is suitable for a wide range of golfers looking to improve their long game. Whether you want to hit more fairways or reach longer par 5s in two shots, this mini driver offers the performance and customization options to help you achieve your goals on the course. Consider working with a PXG fitter to ensure that the club is built to your specific requirements and watch as your game improves with this game-changing club in your bag.
