Martin Chuck, a top golf coach and inventor of popular training aids, has designed The ONE Wedge to improve the short game for regular golfers. The wedge features a massive sole, high spin, strong consistency, and a refusal to dig into the turf. In this article, we will review the looks, sound & feel, and performance of The ONE Wedge.

The appearance of The ONE Wedge is unconventional, with a large sole, “Pitch Control” on the trailing edge, and various textures in the cavity. At address, the wedge features a large face covered in grooves, lines at 45-degree angles, and a unique hosel design resembling a PING EYE2. The design elements of the club set it apart from traditional wedges and give it a distinctive look.

In terms of sound and feel, The ONE Wedge surprised with a medium soft feel on centered impacts and clear feedback on mishits. However, the feel feedback was not pinpoint, but golfers can still tell if they missed thin, toe, or heel. Overall, the wedge offers a balanced feel that is neither a reason to game nor turn away from it.

The ONE Wedge boasts features like the “4-Way Auto-React Sole,” “Pitch Control Weighting,” “ONE-Tempo Shaft,” and “Control Spin Grooves,” which aim to improve performance on the course. During testing, the wedge delivered impressive launch angles, above-average spin, and consistent numbers compared to traditional wedges. The wide sole of the club made it almost impossible to hit fat shots and produced a tight dispersion.

Despite its performance advantages, The ONE Wedge may not be versatile for players who prefer touch shots or baby fades. However, it is an ideal tool for golfers looking to simplify their short game and reduce stress around the green. The wedge offers high spin, tight dispersion, and a sole that resists digging into the turf, making it a valuable addition to any golfer’s bag.

While claims of lowering scores by 7-9 shots should be taken with caution, The ONE Wedge proves to be a remarkable short game companion for golfers struggling with short game play. With its innovative design, performance features, and user-friendly characteristics, The ONE Wedge stands out as a reliable and effective tool for improving performance around the green.
