The PXG Allan putter is a game-changing design that features Zero Torque Balance Technology, keeping the putter face square to the path throughout the putting stroke. Named in honor of Bob Parsons’ brother Allan, this putter aims to enhance consistency, making putting more enjoyable for golfers. The modern mallet aesthetics and pleasant sound and feel of the Allan putter are also worth noting.

The black geometric body and aluminum strip down the center give the PXG Allan putter a sleek, modern look that is commonly seen in larger mallet putters. The wide black alignment line makes aiming the putter face easy, while the high-tech appearance in the bag reflects the quality and precision associated with the PXG brand. The sound and feel of the Allan putter are pleasant, with a ‘tycke’ sound and firm, responsive contact.

Two design features, the Pyramid Face Pattern and S-COR Technology, contribute to the sound and feel of the PXG Allan putter, creating a soft sound and minimizing vibration. In terms of performance, the Allan putter offers consistency in roll-out and alignment, making it a reliable choice for straight putts. The Zero Torque Balance Technology sets the Allan apart, providing a balanced, stable putter head during the putting stroke.

Although the toe-up design of the PXG Allan putter may feel strange to golfers accustomed to traditional putters, the Zero Torque Balance Technology aims to improve consistency and forgiveness on off-center hits. The 5° loft with a 2° forward press results in a 3° standard loft, offering a consistent roll during testing. The Allan putter’s sole design also allows for easy ball pickup with a gentle press.

Overall, the PXG Allan putter may not completely eliminate putting errors, but its zero torque design and forgiveness make it a valuable tool for golfers looking to improve their putting game. The Allan is recommended for beginners or those struggling with putting, although the $450 price tag is a serious investment. Golfers who have never tried a zero torque design should consider giving the Allan putter a test to experience the potential benefits. As Allan Parsons might say, “Let the good times roll” with the PXG Allan putter.
