Titleist and Ping are known for their biennial releases of new products, and the latest Titleist GT fairway wood line promises fast speeds, higher flight, and optimal spin. To see how these fairway woods stack up against the competition, testing was done on the golf course after being fitted at the Performance Fitting Centre at Woburn Golf Club. The GT2 fairway wood features a tungsten weight for higher launch and lower spin, along with a new Seamless Thermoform Crown made from Proprietary Matrix Polymer for faster speed and optimal CG positioning.

The construction of the GT2 fairway wood includes new technology that blends seamlessly into the traditional design, featuring a gloss black crown and silver tones on the sole. The shallow face of the GT2 fairway wood inspires confidence for those who struggle with launch, while the tour-refined shape and lower CG positioning create a high-launching, low-spinning club. This makes the GT2 fairway wood an attractive option for golfers looking for a versatile club that can be used off the tee or into greens.

Testing with Titleist Pro V1x golf balls showed an increase in ball speed compared to the TSR2 fairway wood, resulting in additional carry distance. The new L-Cup face design provides a flexible face with a stable perimeter for enhanced ball speeds, especially on miss-hits low on the face. This technology makes the GT2 fairway wood one of the most forgiving options on the market, appealing to a wide range of golfers looking for speed and distance.

The GT2 fairway wood is recommended for golfers seeking forgiveness, speed, and distance both off the tee and into greens. The broad appeal of this club makes it suitable for a wide range of players, regardless of skill level. The GT range, including the GT2 fairway wood, will be available for purchase starting on August 23 with a retail price of $399 or $599 with a Graphite Design premium shaft. With its combination of technology, performance, and aesthetics, the GT2 fairway wood is poised to be a top contender in the fairway wood market.
