Review of the Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood

Titleist has recently released their new GT3 fairway wood, following the success of the TSR3 model. This new club features a tour-inspired shape and ‘generational technology’ in the crown, promising increased speed and total performance. To put these claims to the test, extensive testing was done to determine if the Titleist GT3 could stand out as one of the best fairway woods on the market.

The design of the Titleist GT3 fairway wood is visually appealing, boasting a pear-shaped, tour-influenced design that will appeal to many golfers. The club’s less curvature in the heel and sole results in a head that sits flush to the ground, inspiring confidence in the golfer. The Seamless Thermoform Crown design, made from a Proprietary Matrix Polymer, allows for optimal CG placement while maintaining the signature sound and feel of Titleist fairway woods.

One of the key features of the GT3 fairway wood is its adjustability, with a weight-track system on the sole that allows for more concentrated CG placement and increased control and ball speed. Testing revealed a noticeable jump in ball speed, resulting in additional distance. The taller face of the GT3 is ideal for golfers with a steeper angle of attack, providing consistent ball speed even on off-center strikes.

While the GT3 fairway wood is versatile in terms of shaping shots, it may not be the best option for those seeking a forgiving or high-launching club. Golfers who enjoy hitting fairway woods off the deck will appreciate the GT3’s performance. Both the GT3 and GT2 models will be available for purchase with the option of a premium Graphite Design shaft or strong stock shaft offerings, such as the Project X HZRDUS Black 5th Gen.

In conclusion, the Titleist GT3 fairway wood offers a blend of performance and adjustability that will appeal to golfers looking for a versatile club. With its tour-inspired design and innovative technology, the GT3 stands out as a top contender in the fairway wood category. Whether you’re looking for increased speed, control, or the ability to shape shots, the GT3 is worth considering as an addition to your golf bag.
