Reviewing The ONE Wedge: A Plugged In Golf Overview

Martin Chuck, a top golf coach, has designed The ONE Wedge to help golfers improve their short game. With a large sole, high spin, and consistency, this wedge aims to make the short game easier for players of all skill levels. In this article, we will review the looks, sound and feel, performance, and overall conclusion of The ONE Wedge to see if it lives up to its promises.

At first glance, The ONE Wedge stands out with its unique design. The wedge features a massive sole with “Pitch Control” across the trailing edge and a cavity with various levels and textures. At address, the wedge has a large face covered in grooves, lines at 45-degree angles, and a distinct hosel design. Despite its unconventional appearance, the wedge is designed to help players with their short game.

Surprisingly, The ONE Wedge delivers a decent sound and feel on centered impacts, producing a medium soft feel and a thud sound. Mishits provide feedback with a slightly louder knock at impact and a firmer feel. While the feel may not be as precise as some players prefer, it still offers enough feedback for players to adjust their shots accordingly.

The ONE Wedge boasts several features, including the “4-Way Auto-React Sole,” “Pitch Control Weighting,” “ONE-Tempo Shaft,” and “Control Spin Grooves.” These features aim to enhance forgiveness, stability, and consistency in every shot. During testing, the wedge performed well, with launch angles and spin rates comparable to traditional wedges, along with a tight dispersion and consistent numbers.

The standout feature of The ONE Wedge is its sole design, which makes it almost impossible to hit fat shots. The wedge’s wide, rounded sole allows it to glide through the turf effortlessly, reducing the risk of digging into the ground. While the sole may limit versatility for some players, it excels at providing a consistent and stable base for short game shots.

In conclusion, The ONE Wedge is a valuable tool for golfers looking to improve their short game performance. While claims of lowering scores by 7-9 shots may be exaggerated, the wedge does offer high spin, tight dispersion, and forgiveness around the green. For players struggling with their short game, The ONE Wedge could be a game-changer in reducing stress and improving scoring opportunities.
