Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his disappointing finish at the U.S. Open, is now gearing up for the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. Scheffler had a rough week at Pinehurst No. 2, where he struggled with his putting and managing the challenging course. He admits that it was a tough week, but he is ready to move on and tackle the new challenges at TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship, a Signature Event on the PGA Tour this year.

One of the issues Scheffler faced at the U.S. Open was the difficulty of the course at Pinehurst, especially the crowned Donald Ross greens. He struggled with his putting, ranking 70th in Strokes Gained: Putting for the tournament. Scheffler acknowledges that he needs to work on his putting skills, especially on courses with challenging greens like Pinehurst. Additionally, the pesky wire grass off the fairways posed another challenge for players, making it difficult to manage their shots effectively around the course.

Despite his struggles at the U.S. Open, Scheffler remains optimistic about his performance at the Travelers Championship. He has a history of success at Signature Events and is looking forward to the challenge at TPC River Highlands. His caddie, Ted Scott, has won the Travelers Championship three times with Bubba Watson, so Scheffler is confident in their ability to navigate the course successfully. He is paired with Max Homa for the first two rounds of the tournament, with a tee time of 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Scheffler reflects on his performance at the U.S. Open and acknowledges that it was a challenging week for him. He describes the course at Pinehurst No. 2 as demanding and tough for players who are not at the top of their game. Despite his T41 finish, Scheffler remains focused on the task at hand and is determined to bounce back at the Travelers Championship. He sees this as an opportunity to reset and showcase his skills on a different style of course.

Looking ahead, Scheffler is prepared to put in the work on his putting and course management to improve his performance at upcoming events. He understands the importance of adapting to different course conditions and challenges in order to succeed in competitive golf. With the support of his caddie and a positive mindset, Scheffler is ready to face the competition at the Travelers Championship and showcase his talent on the course. Stay tuned to see how Scheffler performs in the upcoming tournament and how he continues to progress in his professional golf career.
