2026 Scotty Cameron Phantom Putters: A New Era of Innovation for Golf Enthusiasts

Scotty Cameron has officially unveiled the latest additions to its distinguished Phantom mallet putter lineup for 2026. These tour-inspired designs are engineered for a softer feel, enhanced distance control, and a broader range of configurations, catering to various putting styles.

New Head Shapes and Configurations

The 2026 Phantom series introduces three distinctive head shapes: Phantom 5, Phantom 7, and Phantom 9R. Golfers can choose from nine unique combinations of putter heads, necks, and shafts, providing options tailored to individual preferences.

Key Features of the 2026 Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter Lineup:

  • Full-Face Studio Carbon Steel Inserts: Each putter is equipped with a full-face Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) insert that incorporates chain-link face milling technology, first seen in the 2025 Studio Style lineup. The carbon steel offers superior damping capacity over materials like Teryllium and stainless steel, creating a softer sound at impact while ensuring precise distance control.

  • Expanded Configuration Options: The lineup now includes five neck and shaft configurations across the three head shapes. Notable additions are the low-torque Onset Center (OC) configuration for the Phantom 5 OC and a double-bend shaft option for the Phantom 7.

  • Tour-Inspired Design Refinements: Professional golfer feedback has led to several important design tweaks: deeper faces with modified crowns improve visual alignment at address, redesigned flatter soles enhance consistency in setup, and a modified jet neck reduces aggressive forward lean.

Phantom 5.5

Overview of Phantom Head Shapes

  • Phantom 5: This compact wingback mallet is trusted by tour players like Justin Thomas and Russell Henley. It comes in four configurations, including a mid-bend shaft (5), 5.2 plumbing neck, 5.5 jet neck, and the innovative Onset Center low-torque design for square, straight-back-and-through strokes.

  • Phantom 7: This sharp-angled wingback boasts a larger footprint and rail-like alignment features. New for this model is a double-bend shaft (7) for a more face-balanced feel, along with 7.2 plumbing neck and 7.5 jet neck options.

  • Phantom 9R: A rounded evolution of the previous Phantom 9, the 9R features softer contours and edges. It offers two alignment options: a long single sightline (9R) or abbreviated sightline (9.2R), both available with a mid-bend shaft or 9.2 plumbing neck.

Expert Opinions

"The popularity of mallets continues to grow, both on tour and among dedicated golfers," said Austie Rollinson, Scotty Cameron’s Senior Director of Putter R&D. "There’s no one ‘right’ way to putt, and the new Phantom line exemplifies this.”

Paul Vizanko, Director of Putter Fitting & Player Development, highlighted overwhelmingly positive reactions from tour players regarding the new deeper face design, which caters to players who often hit up on the ball.

Pricing, Specs, and Availability

The 2026 Phantom putters are priced at $499 each, with the exception of the Phantom 5 OC, which retails for $549. All models feature 3.5 degrees of loft, a 70-degree lie angle, and stock lengths of 33”, 34”, and 35”. Each putter is equipped with a gray Full Contact grip and will be available at retail starting February 27.

With innovation at its forefront, the 2026 Scotty Cameron Phantom putters promise to elevate performance for golfers of all skill levels. Embrace the new designs and find the configuration that suits your unique putting style!
