The TaylorMade P·770 and P·790 Copper irons are designed for golfers who appreciate the vintage look of clubs but also want to benefit from modern technologies. These irons feature a hollow-bodied design with 8620 carbon steel chassis, forged 4140 steel face, and vibration-dampening foam. The Copper Collection pays homage to TaylorMade’s 1980s offerings, with retro styling and details that set them apart from the standard versions of the P·770 and P·790.

Like many golf footwear makers have done with popular shoes, TaylorMade has taken a similar approach with the release of the Copper Collection. The P·770 Copper and P·790 Copper irons look like they could have been used by players in the 1980s, with a design that combines modern performance features with a throwback aesthetic. These irons are identical in design to the standard P·770 and P·790 but feature a copper-toned finish, old-school grips, and TaylorMade’s original logo on the toe.

Both the P·770 Copper and P·790 Copper irons have a hollow-body design that allows the faces to flex more efficiently at impact, resulting in increased ball speed and distance. They also feature a Speed Pocket slot in the sole to enhance performance on thin shots and TaylorMade’s FLT CG system to optimize the center of gravity location in each iron for improved ball flight and distance control. The hollow chambers are filled with SpeedFoam Air, a second-generation material that absorbs vibrations and enhances sound.

The P·770 features a body made from 8620 carbon steel, while the P·790 has a thick-thin back wall construction to save weight. Both clubs offer the same performance features as the standard versions but appeal to golfers who appreciate the throwback style of the copper-toned finish and retro design elements. TaylorMade says the copper finish will “mature over time,” adding to the aesthetic appeal for those who love the vintage vibe.

Overall, the TaylorMade P·770 and P·790 Copper irons are a blend of modern performance and retro styling, perfect for golfers who want to stand out on the course with a unique look. The hollow-bodied design, Speed Pocket slot, and FLT CG system offer enhanced playability and distance control, while the copper-toned finish and old-school grips add to the nostalgic feel of these irons. Whether you’re a fan of vintage clubs or just appreciate the aesthetics of the Copper Collection, these irons are sure to turn heads on the course.
