Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects has recently announced plans to design and build a second course at the Buenaventura Resort in Panama, located 90 miles southwest of Panama City. This new course will measure 6,810 yards with a par of 72, featuring long ribbon tees that allow players to choose their best distances. The designers plan to utilize the natural topography of the land to create interest and provide long sightlines and ocean views, avoiding heavy earth-moving to build the course. The fairways will be generously wide, allowing players to select strategic lines into the greens with an emphasis on fun and playability.

According to Bruce Charlton, the president of Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects, golfers at Buenaventura Resort will journey through a variety of distinct environments as they play the new course. The jungle holes will be surrounded by dense foliage and towering Guanacaste trees, with running streams creating a challenging adventure for players navigating winding fairways. The meadow holes will offer wide-open spaces for bold, strategic play, while a breathtaking beach and ocean-view hole will provide a unique challenge with ocean breezes and sandy shores.

Buenaventura is an 800-acre beach resort and residential community in Central America, with the first course at the resort designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2012. The addition of a second course by Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects will further enhance the golfing experience at Buenaventura Resort, offering players a diverse and captivating layout that showcases the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. This new course is expected to attract golf enthusiasts from around the world and solidify Buenaventura Resort as a premier destination for golf and relaxation in Panama.

Designed with an emphasis on playability and fun, the second course at Buenaventura Resort will provide golfers of all skill levels with an enjoyable and engaging experience on the course. The varied natural topography and strategic design elements incorporated into the course will challenge players while showcasing the beauty of the surrounding environment. With expansive fairways, long sightlines, and unique environmental features, the new course will offer a memorable and rewarding golfing experience for players looking to test their skills and enjoy the game in a stunning tropical setting.

In addition to the new course, Buenaventura Resort offers a range of amenities and activities for guests, including luxurious accommodations, dining options, spa services, and access to the beach and ocean. The resort’s convenient location near Panama City and its natural surroundings make it an ideal destination for golfers and travelers seeking a tranquil and scenic retreat. With the addition of the second course designed by Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects, Buenaventura Resort is set to become a must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts and luxury travelers looking for an unforgettable experience in Panama.

Overall, the second course at Buenaventura Resort in Panama is poised to elevate the golfing experience at the resort and attract players from around the world seeking a unique and challenging layout in a beautiful tropical setting. With its strategic design, natural landscaping, and emphasis on playability, the new course by Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects promises to provide an exceptional golfing experience that complements the existing amenities and attractions at Buenaventura Resort. Whether relaxing on the beach, exploring the jungle, or teeing off on the fairways, guests at Buenaventura Resort can look forward to a memorable and rewarding stay at this premier golf destination in Panama.
