Baile stresses the importance of gripping the golf club using the last three fingers of your top hand and applying pressure by pulling up with the fingers beneath the club instead of pushing down with the thumbs. This strategy helps to prevent tension in the forearms, shoulders, and jaw while allowing for better control of the clubface. By pulling the grip up towards the middle of the chest, golfers can generate more clubhead speed and rotation without sacrificing fluidity in their swing.

In order to confirm if your clubface is square at address, Baile suggests a simple grip hack that involves making sure the grip pressure is pulling up with the fingers. This technique helps maintain supple wrists, elbows, and soft shoulders while enhancing control of the clubface. By focusing on pulling the grip up with the fingers rather than pushing down with the thumbs, golfers can achieve a more consistent and powerful swing. This grip hack is designed to improve overall performance and promote effortless turf interaction for a more stable and accurate strike.

If you struggle with maintaining proper grip pressure during your swing, it may be helpful to practice this grip hack on the driving range or during a practice round. By training your muscles to pull up with the fingers beneath the club, you can develop a more natural and effective grip that supports a powerful and controlled swing. Remembering to keep the last three fingers of your top hand engaged and applying pressure by pulling up can lead to improved consistency and accuracy on the course.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced golfer, dialing in the proper grip pressure is essential for maximizing your performance and enjoying the game. By following Baile’s tips and incorporating this simple grip hack into your pre-swing routine, you can enhance your control, power, and overall confidence on the course. Remember to focus on pulling up with the fingers beneath the club, maintaining supple wrists and shoulders, and visualizing the weight of the club hanging in your grip as you swing. With practice and dedication, you can refine your grip pressure and elevate your golf game to the next level.
