Lottie Woad Named 2025 Golfweek Female Amateur of the Year

The year 2025 marked a phenomenal chapter in the world of women’s amateur golf, showcasing exceptional talent and extraordinary achievements. In the search for Golfweek’s Female Amateur of the Year, one name rose above the competition: Lottie Woad.

Winner: Lottie Woad

Lottie Woad has etched her name in the annals of amateur golf with a remarkable run that began at last year’s Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Throughout 2025, she not only maintained her status as the No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking but also clinched victory at the Women’s Irish Open, all while remaining an amateur. Woad’s performance further soared as she finished third in the prestigious Amundi Evian Championship, earning her an LPGA card before turning professional just a week later. Impressively, she also won in her pro debut.

Honorable Mentions

Megha Ganne

Megha Ganne poses on the 16th hole with the Patrick Cox trophy after winning the 125th US Women's Amateur at the Bandon Dunes Golf Course on August 10, 2025, in Bandon, Oregon.

Megha Ganne has captivated fans throughout her career, and 2025 proved to be a breakthrough year as she claimed victory at the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Bandon, Oregon. This win marked a significant milestone in her journey as one of golf’s most beloved figures.

Paula Martin Sampedro

Paula Martin Sampedro of Spain holds the trophy following her victory during the Final on Day Six of the R&A Women’s Amateur Championship at Nairn Golf Club on June 15, 2025, in Nairn, Scotland.

Paula Martin Sampedro had a standout summer in 2025, securing her place as the world’s No. 2 amateur golfer. Her triumphs included victories at the Women’s Amateur Championship and the European Ladies Amateur, showcasing her immense talent while also representing Stanford as a top-ranked player.
