The LPGA Tour is making its return to the US with the inaugural FM Championship at TPC Boston. This event boasts the biggest purse in a regular event on the LPGA Tour this season, with a total of $3.8m up for grabs. This milestone was made possible by the generous contribution of sponsor FM, who added an extra $300,000 to the payout. Over the course of their five-year partnership, the purse is set to increase each year until it reaches an impressive $5m.

The prize money breakdown for the FM Championship offers a substantial payout for the top finishers, with the winner taking home $570,000. Additionally, there will be a stipend of $1,000 for those who miss the cut, along with complimentary hotel accommodations for all players. In addition to the monetary rewards, the winner of this event will also earn 500 Race to the CME Globe points.

The field for the FM Championship includes some of the top players in the world, such as KPMG Women’s PGA Champion Amy Yang, Jin Young Ko, Hannah Green, Celine Boutier, and Rose Zhang. Other notable competitors include Lauren Coughlin, who claimed victory at the CPKC Women’s Open and ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open, as well as US Women’s Open champion Yuka Saso. Local favorites Megan Khang and Alexa Pano from Massachusetts will also be competing in the 144-player field.

The FM Championship is being held at TPC Boston in Massachusetts, a course designed by Arnold Palmer in 2022 and later redesigned by Gil Hanse and Brad Faxon. Known for hosting prestigious PGA Tour events like the Northern Trust and Dell Technologies Championship, TPC Boston provides a challenging and exciting venue for the LPGA Tour players to showcase their skills. The course’s layout and design are sure to test the golfers’ abilities and provide a thrilling competition for both players and spectators.

As golf fans eagerly anticipate the FM Championship, they can look forward to witnessing some of the sport’s brightest stars in action. With the likes of Amy Yang, Jin Young Ko, Hannah Green, Celine Boutier, and Rose Zhang headlining the field, there is sure to be plenty of excitement and drama throughout the tournament. Additionally, with the substantial prize money on offer, the competition is expected to be fierce as the players vie for the top spot and the lucrative payday that comes with it.

The FM Championship is not only a significant event on the LPGA Tour’s calendar but also a testament to the growth and popularity of women’s golf. With a record-breaking purse and a strong field of competitors, the tournament is poised to be a thrilling and memorable showcase of talent and skill. As the players tee off at TPC Boston, fans can expect high-quality golf and fierce competition as the battle for supremacy and a share of the prize money unfolds over the course of the event.
