- PGA Tour player gives back
Our Michael Williams…”Aaron Terrazas is not yet a star on the PGA Tour, but he showed this week that he is already a hero to some very special people. On Monday, Terrazas shared a practice round at the Northern Trust with former Marine Daniel Wiseman, a veteran of Desert Storm and now confined to a wheelchair owing to the lingering effects of that war. Wiseman, who is among a group of veterans with whom Terrazas has played, ran into the golfer earlier in the week at Liberty National and reminded him of the promise he made to play together.”
“Along with his wife, Julie, Terrazas answer the call to play nine holes with Wiseman on Monday morning.”
“For a couple of hours, soul lines intersected at Liberty National- a Marine who gave a commitment to the protection of freedom playing a game he loves with a man who had put it all on the line for that same ideal. Both knew where the challenge was fought, beyond the fairways and greens. And both met it with honor and grace.”
Williams added that Terrazas and Wiseman’s day on the course was “purpose-driven, poignant and profoundly satisfying.”

- Ryder Cup update
Our Tim Bessette…”Patience is a virtue for all parties involved in the Ryder Cup process, and today, one team has seemed to back off a bad decision and another team has reaped the rewards.”
Bessette reports on the decision to reverse course regarding “Wayne” as a nickname for Team USA at this year’s Ryder Cup.
“A scintillating premise, backed by shocking levels of enthusiasm and passion. Grimm and his branding team at Dirty Water Creative Group called their branding expose ‘Wayne,’ accentuating the coaching prowess of Wayne Gretzky and in general the fact that Wayne spells success. He also noted that there were 13 Wayne’s in the Pre-Ryder Cup Top 8. Ergo: Wayne.”
Unfortunately for Team USA, they were forced to make a hard pivot back to “Team USA” after outrage from the real Wayne Gretzky.

- Kuchar’s hilarious response to trip questions
Our Tim Bessette reports on a humorous situation that unfolded when Matt Kuchar was asked for his expectations for the Dustin Johnson Charity Invitational:
“They razzed me pretty hard last year, playing poorly on a course my dad built and a tournament that benefits our community. It was great seeing how much the tournament was able to raise. But winning this event would really tick all their boxes… Coming back with my competitive hat on this year. Winner goes home with a big belt, trophy, and jacket. I’d love to show it off in El Paso. I think my chances are probably about the same as college bowl games and March Madness – my brackets are a disaster”
Kuchar’s humor and good-natured response are sure to endear him even more to fans as he competes in the tournament.
