Review of the Benross REV 2.0 Wedge

Benross has made a strong comeback in the golf market with their new REV 2.0 wedge, offering quality products at affordable prices with appealing aesthetics and new technology. Priced at just £79, the REV 2.0 wedge features a dark satin gray finish that gives it a premium look similar to higher-priced clubs like the Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges. However, some may find the large, rounded head shape and full-face grooves to be less visually appealing at address.

Despite the unique design, the REV 2.0 wedge offers forgiveness and confidence around the greens, making it a great option for players looking to improve their short game. The CNC milled face provides a crisp feel and the full-face grooves are said to enhance spin on open-faced shots, making it easier to be creative with shots around the green. The wide sole and high bounce combination in the 56° wedge tested made turf interaction smooth and pleasant, even in sticky lies in the rough.

When hitting fuller shots, the REV 2.0 wedge was easy to launch and created generous stopping power on the greens. The wide sole helped with turf interaction, but could prove challenging on firmer ground, especially for short-sided shots or shots off tight lies. Despite these challenges, the REV 2.0 wedge offers excellent value for money, with generous spin, good feel from the soft 304 stainless steel face, and the ability to control distance and trajectory with chip and pitch shots.

Overall, the Benross REV 2.0 wedge is a cost-effective option for players who need help with steep angles and want a club that can prevent digging into the turf. The wedge may not appeal to everyone visually, but its performance and affordability make it a solid choice for those looking to improve their short game. With its combination of forgiveness, spin, and feel, the REV 2.0 wedge is a versatile option for players of all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner looking to boost your confidence around the green or a seasoned player in need of a reliable wedge, the Benross REV 2.0 could be the club for you.
