Choosing the Best Titleist Golf Balls for Your Game and Budget in 2024

Titleist has long been known for producing high-quality golf balls, with the Pro V1 and Pro V1x being the most popular choices among professional and amateur golfers alike. In 2023, Titleist golf balls were used to win 159 professional events, showcasing the brand’s dominance in the industry. The company typically updates its golf balls on a two-year cycle, with the Pro V1 and Pro V1x being the latest offerings. However, for the 2024 season, Titleist introduced new versions of the AVX, Tour Soft, and TruFeel, while discontinuing the Tour Speed to streamline their lineup.

In 2024, Titleist offers seven different golf balls at retail, with the Pro V1, Pro V1x, and Pro V1x Left Dash positioned as the most-premium options in the lineup. These three balls are considered the best in terms of overall performance, suitable for a wide range of golfers. However, Titleist also offers four other balls – AVX, Tour Soft, Velocity, and TruFeel – designed for specific player types and available at lower price points. When choosing a Titleist golf ball, it’s important to consider performance needs and budget constraints to find the best fit.

To determine which Titleist golf ball is best suited for your game, it is recommended to try them out starting from the green and progressing to tee shots. Consider factors such as spin, control, flight, and distance to identify the ball that aligns with your playing style. Price should also be taken into consideration when making a decision. By prioritizing performance needs and budget constraints, golfers can select a Titleist ball that offers the right balance of quality and affordability.

The Titleist Pro V1 is a three-piece ball with a high-gradient core and a cast urethane cover, designed to reduce spin with long clubs while enhancing control with short irons and wedges. The Pro V1x, on the other hand, is a four-piece ball with a dual-core construction and a urethane cover, offering increased speed and slightly firmer feel compared to the Pro V1. The Pro V1x Left Dash is a unique option for fast-swinging players, producing less spin on full-swing shots while flying higher than the Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

The Titleist AVX is a three-piece ball with a gradational core and a softer, thicker urethane cover, delivering a softer feel, less full-swing spin, and lower trajectory compared to the Pro V1. The Tour Soft is a two-piece ball with a massive gradational core and an ionomer cover, designed to generate more speed and distance. The Velocity, also a two-piece ball, features a large LSX core and an ionomer cover, offering higher launch angles and stopping power with trajectory. Lastly, the TruFeel has a newly-formulated core and a TruFlex cover, providing a softer feel, more greenside spin, and control at a lower price point.
