In the 2024 PGA Tour season, amateurs have been making waves with a total of 10 amateurs making the cut 12 times, with two standout players being Neal Shipley and Luke Clanton. Shipley has made the cut at two majors this season, the Masters and the U.S. Open, while Clanton has also made an impressive showing by making the cut at two different events. Nick Dunlap stands out among the amateurs with a victory at the American Express back in January, putting him on a short list of just eight golfers to win a PGA Tour event as an amateur.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic had two amateurs make the cut, while the U.S. Open saw three amateurs make the weekend, the most of any tournament so far in 2024. Despite not receiving payment for making the cut, if these amateurs were to collect the prize money from their finishing positions, they would have earned a total of $2,278,505. Dunlap’s victory at the AmEx would have been worth $1.512 million, with two other amateurs also potentially earning six-figure paychecks.

The amateurs who have made the cut on the PGA Tour in 2024 include Nick Dunlap, Santiago de la Fuente, Jackson Van Paris, Neal Shipley, Kris Kim, Blades Brown, Jackson Koivun, Luke Clanton, Gunnar Broin, and Ben James. These amateurs have shown that they have what it takes to compete at the highest level in professional golf, with impressive performances at various tournaments throughout the season.

The success of these amateur players in 2024 highlights the talent and potential that exists in the amateur ranks of golf. With players like Shipley, Clanton, and Dunlap making a name for themselves on the PGA Tour, it is clear that the future of professional golf is in good hands. These amateurs have shown that they have the skills and dedication to compete with the best in the world, and their performances on the tour this season have proven that they are ready to take the next step in their careers.

As the season progresses, it will be exciting to see how these amateur players continue to perform and whether they can maintain their success on the PGA Tour. With their impressive showings so far in 2024, it is clear that these amateurs are not just here to make up the numbers – they are here to compete and win. The future looks bright for these talented young players, and they are sure to be ones to watch as they continue to make their mark on the professional golf world.
